Why can't the fan boys just accept that it will be late, and it will get here at some point, and give it a rest? Instead we get daily reports about it's "almost here". I mean it's coming up on 4 years and it's still not here, but it's "almost here". Wadaya mean? It's only 4 years.Re: Possible Canada boarder opening mid August azdryheat wrote: I'm not showing my 'papers' to anybody. Not to cross a border, not to fly in a airplane, not ever. Whatever happened to the HIPPA Law about medical privacy? As a cop, when HIPPA first came out, we were briefed that at an accident scene, for example, the medics weren't allowed to tell us cops if the person they were working had any DUI symptoms. Yet there's folks demanding to see our vaccination 'papers'. As a cop you should know US laws only apply in the US.Re: New F-150 Electric P/UUnfortunately charging stations can't give them much more than 3/4 of a tank unless they stay the night.Re: Chinese RV tires... holding up!I've had US and Chinese made Marathons and Chinese Carlisles. Both my 5ths had 235-16E tires and GVWR's of just over 10K and 12K. I ran them at max sidewall pressure, didn't cruise above 65 MPH and changed them at 7 years. Never had a problem with any of them.Re: F150 Lightening free radical wrote: wilber1 wrote: free radical wrote: FishOnOne wrote: One thing that needs to happen if the EV revolution is going to be successful is all the public battery chargers need to be standardized so any EV brand vehicle can pull up to a battery charger and charge their vehicle like any ICE vehicle can pull up to a gas pump and refuel. Tesla did ask other automakers to pitch in with $ when they built their SCharger network and none did. Theres still time for big three to get together and build their own charging stations, but I doubt that will hapen. Theyre all waitin for someone else to foot the bill imo. VW is building Electrify America and Electrify Canada. They are open use. Tesla could make a lot of money selling power from its Superchargers but I guess they aren't interested in making EV's attractive to more people. My guess is its Tesla way to make people buy only Tesla cars LOL Of course but if someone isn't keen on a Tesla it makes them less likely to buy an EV. EV's won't go very far if people can't count on using all the charging facilities like they can gas stations.Re: F150 Lightening free radical wrote: FishOnOne wrote: One thing that needs to happen if the EV revolution is going to be successful is all the public battery chargers need to be standardized so any EV brand vehicle can pull up to a battery charger and charge their vehicle like any ICE vehicle can pull up to a gas pump and refuel. I have never pulled into a station to buy diesel for my truck and been told I couldn't fuel up because I had the wrong brand of vehicle. Not being able to use all available charging stations is a disincentive to buying an EV no matter how you try to justify it. How would you ever show up at a Tesla Supercharger if navigating with your Ford Lightning truck? Likewise if you have a Cybertruck the navigation will take you from Supercharger to Supercharger to your destination. What do you think happens now if your company credit card is a Chevron branded card? You better navigate between Chevron stations. I have never been told I couldn’t put diesel in my truck because I was driving the wrong brand of truck. You would find Superchargers the same way as you find other charge points. How do you find non Supercharger charge points in your Tesla? Aren’t they in the database? You don’t need a Chevron branded card to use Chevron stations and you don’t need a particular brand of vehicle. That’s the whole point. I’ll stay away from EV’s until they get their act together. PHEV maybe but not a BEV.Re: Inflated hopes for EV P/U Groover wrote: Isn't there a $7500 federal tax credit on the purchase of EVs'? I wouldn't have even thought about buying an electric vehicle if I had to rely on the **** chargers that non-Teslas have to put up with. The only reason that we have charging networks is that Tesla blazed the path and now others are trying get in on the game but from what I hear most are making pretty lame attempts. They aren't even trying in the area I live in. Not having a common charging infrastructure is a big thing that is keeping me away from EV's. I can fill up at any gas station in the country thanks and until the EV industry is the same, I 'm not really interested. What if every manufacturer decided to go Tesla's route and build their own proprietary charging system. Who in their right mind would buy one of the things. Seems you are pro EV but only as long as it is a Tesla.
