It has what I think is oxidized exterior. Wondered have you guys handle that. I've been told that simple green takes care of black strea and now that warmer weather is around the corner, I will be trying that out. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Is there a wax/protection product out there that you can recommend. Thanks in advanceRe: The worst part of getting ready to fulltime is...ITGuy...Very interesting out look. Good for you too for finding, not by choice, what's important in life. I have had the same thoughts about possions, but have a hardtime letting go. In time I'm sure I'll be able to make the transition. That's why I'm starting early. Sort of ease into it as it were. LOLSpace heaters. We have always been fair weather campers/RV'rs, but are now looking at the full time thing in the next few years. Do any of you out there use portable electric space heaters to help conserve propane while you are in a park with full hook ups? We were "camping" in our driveway last week while we had company and were using a small space heater to keep the bedroom warm. It did fine if we kept the door closed, but of course the rest of the 5th wheel was cold. I know if things get too cold, we would need the propane furnace to keep tanks and water lines from freezing. Any help or suggestions would be gladly accepted.Re: The worst part of getting ready to fulltime is...I will be retiring Jan of 2019. We are starting the process of de-cluttering this summer with an eye to sell the house in the summer/fall of 2018. We will likely go into an apartment for few months untill we can leave. It is a big change of thinking and living.Kind of scary to a point, but exciting at the same time. Time will tellRe: Norcold refer troubleThanks for the tip. I haven't tried that. I will check the manual to see if that is possible. I have a mod# N811FRT. They do make a high altitude kit, but only for mod# 3163 units.Re: Norcold refer troubleI'll have to check the mod#. As far as the altitude limit, this is info I have gained from the net from surfing. I need to find the owners manual. I'm hoping that this is old info and Norcold has fixed the problem. From your reply, it seem so. At anyrate, my dealer has been really good at working with us. Problem is, in town we are lower than when camping. It didn't fail at the dealer. Just looking for suggestions. I'd really like to get this worked out before our trip to Vegas and south central Utah in September.Norcold refer troubleI'm new here but have been part of the RV fun since 1983 when my wife convinced to buy a 1963 Shasta 16ft TT. We havee come along way since then and gone through many RV's to find the perfect set up. Now to my problem...We have a Couger High Country with a Norcold refer. It won't stay lit at higher altitudes. We dry came alot in the Medicine Bow NF to our west and it is above 5500ft, which I found is their limit. Norcold's remidy is to plug in to AC, but I haven't been able to find a tree that has been wired for that purpose. They don't make a high altitude kit with a differant size orifice to my knowledge. Anybody out there with this problem, and if so, what has been your work around solution? For the life of me I can't figure why a company would make a product that will travel the country and not function above 5500ft. That's about where I live for pete's sake. Thanks in advance for any tips.
