They are great and worked with us on our unit. Key to getting stuff done is to be respectful and talk to them the way you would like to be treated. Folks that go in yelling, demanding, threatening get no where. I hope they come back on line, I'd love to upgrade mine in a few years.Re: Spartan 1245 shakedown ependydad wrote: Nicodemus wrote: Generator won't start - yes, it did start before - not going crazy. My generator wouldn't start initially. Turns out the labels on the gas tanks were swapped. Because of that, the dealership inadvertently put fuel into the auxiliary tank and not the generator tank. They just used the gas pump to transfer it and all was well. Still haven't fixed those labels. :D funny... same here. While at our local MC bash, I couldnt figure out why my genny tank wouldnt fill up when pumping from the auxillary tank. My buddy climbed underneath and yep, I was pumping back into the pump tank. They mixed the labels up...lol. We love our Spartan. I hope they bring them back.Re: Sailun AT tires on tow vehicle 23mikey wrote: Just saw this old post. I too am looking to change tires on my new '18 F350 DRW. I've had the Sailun S637 on our 5ver for 2 + years and 8000 miles. Awesome tire, especially on a 13k 5ver. Looking to upgrade the OEM Michelin tires LTX A/T. Previously had great luck with the Toyo Open Country A/T 2 on my '03 GMC 2500HD Duramax. Easily 50k+ miles, currently on second set. Was planning on those for the new truck when I saw the Sailun Terramx A/T. Simple Tire can get them to me for $100 less per tire than the Toyos. Decisions....decisions! Any update from those who chose the Sailun?? Thanks, Happy 4th!! Mike Mike, I got the Sailun Terramax AT's for my dually. They are ok. I like the tread but haven't tried them in snow. The steering feels a little less responsive. I think the sidewalls are a little softer than others. I probably won't get them again. I have towed the 5er about 2,000 miles so far with no issues though.Re: Sailun AT tires on tow vehicleOutlaw, did you ever make a decision on this? I too have been searching for reviews on these tires and havent found many. I was looking at BFG TA KO2's for my dually, they are running about $213 online, I came across the Sailun Terramax AT on Simple tire for $125, plus 10% off, so $113 each. Saving $600 bucks, I think I am gonna give them a shot.Re: Beware of Good Sam Auto Insurance David-n-Nancy wrote: I purchased Good Sam Insurance for my car, truck and RV 6 months ago It was a good rate so I changed from Geico. My renewal has come up and my rate has increased by $100.00. I've made no claims and my vehicles have all depreciated for the 6 months so why has my rate gone up? I called and I was informed that the rate in TX have gone up do to amount of claims. I asked, if I had a claim my rate would have gone up and was told yes.So my rate went up not because I'm a careful driver but because other people made claims and I get to help pay for theirs even though my vehicles have depreciated for 6 months and the Insurance Co. exposure is less. All this tells me that when you buy Ins. expect a low rate to get you in and then start jacking up the rate each renewal date. Dave This happened to us with motorcycle insurance. We switched from State Farm, whom we have everything else with, to Riders Insurance because they were just for MCs. Our intial rate was well below State Farm with the same coverage and some added benefits like protection gear replacement. After the first year our rate almost doubled. I called and they gave us the exact same speech. Our rate increased because there were more accidents in PA so we had to pay a higher premium. Needless to say, we switched back to State Farm.Re: Dual axle vs triple axle taken wrote: By law the axle capacity needs to meet or exceed the GVWR of the RV. Yes, pin weight will prevent the full GVWR from ever being completely on the axles, but that's the way it is. (Some brands got burned and fined big time a few years back for not complying...) On mine, I have three 7k axles for my 21k GVWR. Dry weight on my RV was 16k so two 8k axles won't work or even come close to working. We have been looking at pretty much every toy hauler in the past 6 months. I have seen some new double axles with gvwr over 14k with 7k axles. What you say makes perfect sense because when I saw them I thought to myself "how can they do that?".Re: Campground motorcycle restrictions? I wonder if the State Park would be ok with motorcycles. I didnt see anything on their website about specifically not allowed. Dont ask, Dont tell. Easier to ask for forgiveness then ask permission. All that kinda stuff.Re: Looking for 5th wheel ideasWe just pulled the trigger on a Prime Time Spartan. Check them out. They meet a lot of your criteria, if not all. Ocean Lakes, PirateLand, and Lakewood all have parking areas at the gate for bikes. Guess they get crossed off the list too. :) There is actually reasoning behind the bans at the MB CGs. Every year there are "Biker Rallys" 2 in fact, at MB. One a Harley Week, and the other a Crotch Rocket Rally over Memorial Day. Seems there has been some trouble during one of these rallys. So that is why the bans. That was always my assumption as to why they do a ban. I'm happy with it. I figured the same regarding Myrtle Beach CGs, and assume more of the same in any other venue that has occasional bike rallies. I've been to a few rallies and I know I wouldn't care to stay in a CG with many of the characters I've seen there. That said, it would be nice if the CG managers would simply limit the bike exclusions to the rally dates. We were at Ocean Lakes last year. They require you to park the bike in a separate lot at the front unless you are gonna push it to your site, mind you this resort is HUGE! Not gonna happen. BUT...it was ok to have street rods in the resort with straight exhaust rumbling through and revving up all the time. That pissed me off!
