Put the kill-a-watt on directly to inverter and turned on microwave. He was shocked to see 1500-1550 watts. We did a bunch of other testing, but bottom line is microwave exceeds power limits of inverter. He will get a 2000w.Re: Can1500w inverter or Honda 2k gen work 900w MicrowaveMy brother now says he isn't sure if he has run the microwave off the generator now. He's been in full hookup CGs a few times. Not much dry camping since Covid. So the Honda 2200i must be able to handle the microwave. It's just the GoPower 1500w inverter. GoPower wants him to do some tests tomorrow and give them a call back. I will be able to check it out tomorrow afternoon at the CG. I have the devices to do so. I bet he has something drawing extra power from the inverter.Re: Can1500w inverter or Honda 2k gen work 900w MicrowaveMY brother travels alone and only uses the microwave to cook or defrost for s hort time. He only drains the 200amp bank about 50amps max and he has 400watts of solar which usually recharges the batteries. Again, I will see him tomorrow at the campground and give it a full checkout. I think his microwave has his inverte overloaded and cutting out because of it. He called GoPower today but hasn't returned my call yet.Re: Can1500w inverter or Honda 2k gen work 900w MicrowaveMy brother says he has 2awg cable going from inverter to 2 BB Lithium batteries. He is calling GoPower today as he bought their inverter with their recommendation. He says all testing has been done directly with isolated circuits soley the microwave. If he can get the inverter to handle the load, then he can alway use it that way instead of using the microwave. I will be camping with him tomorrow and will bring all my test equipment like clamp-on ammeter, Kill-a-watt and short power cored with exposed wiring for clamp-on use.Can1500w inverter or Honda 2k gen work 900w MicrowaveMy brother has a High Point microwave 900w with 1350w operating. He says the inverter won't run the microwave even on a totally isolated circuit. Starts then stops. Now he is worried that his Hoinda 2200i generator may not have enough power either. He has major trips coming up and wants to get the microwave working off shore power.Re: Convict Lake, CA questions?? profdant139 wrote: I just re-watched that video -- hilarious! You can't understand a word I'm saying other than "40 or 50 knots." Which is all that needs to be said, right? Dan do you have Convict Lake in your travel log? If so, what month and year?Re: Convict Lake, CA questions?? toedtoes wrote: Using jugs to supplement your onboard water is fine. Attaching the hose to the spigot to fill your tank is not. Yes I agree! Saw a camper run a 100' hose from the restroom across the road to his RV in Upper Pines in Yosemite to fill his tank. By the time a ranger showed up, he was full. Got just a warning. Anyone know if there is cell coverage at Convict Lake? I read it's 1 bar for Verizon. that meanslittle to nothiong from my experience. Their coverage map shows 4G up to the lake. But that doesn't mean anything.Re: Convict Lake, CA questions?? That's what I was hoping we could do if there was no potable water at dump station. It's only my brother and 3 nights. I could always spare 20 gallons for him if needed. I have 2 blue 2 1/2 gallon water jugs.Re: Convict Lake, CA questions??Are there spgots with potable water within the CG for dishwashinbg? These questions are mostly for my brother with a TT. I have a fully self contained MH with plenty of FW and I travel with it full, always.Re: Convict Lake, CA questions??Too old to mountain bike. DW has a trike, any where to ride flat ground or just from CG to lodge?
