All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: does this happen to anyone elseDW and I love RV'ing together. I do all advance planning and ready-in the rig. Set up at the CG I do all outdoor chores while DW handles indoors. Cooking we split with an edge to me, though she does most dish washing. There is so much to see in this beautiful country and I want to see it all. Since we bought our first RV nine years ago we have also taken a two week trip by air (of course) to Italy and because of time, Alaska. However, to me that was the exception. Italy was with 17 people, some priests that speak Italian and know what to see and where to go. Alaska was for DW's birthday as it has been her dream since I met her 17 years ago. Now she wants to go to Ireland in October with her sisters. Told her I'm not going, why do I spend one thousand dollars a month on our beautiful RV if we are going to spend money and time flying to other countries! She's mad I won't go to Ireland, I'm sorta p'oed that she wants to do that more than use the RV with that time. But if I ask her should we sell the RV and we can take two nice airplane trips a year, No Way Jose are gonna sell the motor home! Don't have the $$$ to do both.Re: How do I add sanitizer to my fresh water tank ?Some rigs that have water pump adapters to winterize by pumping anti-freeze from a gallon jug can be used to reverse fill into your water tank if you have an outdoor shower hook up in your water bay. Un-screw the shower head off of the shower hose and screw the shower hose into the water tank fill fitting. Turn on water pump and outside shower and water should have enough pressure to push past the back flow valve. However, like most I just pour the bleach into the hose and attached to water spigot.Re: Buy a Winter-proof Class A, use as officeBuy a Prius and rent an apartment at each work site. Warm and toasty, LOL!Re: soft pavementI can't believe some of the posts that have actually dropped their jacks down on pavement with out any kind of board or bought jack pads! Incredible. I "always" put boards down no matter the surface beneath my rig. I carry a variety of sizes and thicknesses so I can match up un-even sites. If its pouring rain out when we are leaving our home for a weekend get away I'll throw a couple more lengths of rafter sandwich board in the basement just for insurance of a wet soft site. All scrap lumber cuts picked up from new home build sites, free.Re: What did you do to your Class A MH today???Jrork, absolutely enjoy that beer, past tense! LOL! Far too much work to be done in one day. I would've checked one battery one day, beer, then go back the next day, beer, and so on until your rig is set to go. Enjoy my friend!Re: Difference in levelersI would think a 1" round piece of steel is pretty darn strong. Their purpose isn't to lift the rig off of the ground but to level the corners out and stop the side to side sway you experience in lighter weight rigs when walking about. I'm a bit surprised your Knight has only a single (no matter how big) ram in the front.Re: Difference in levelersThanks mtrumpt for clarification on the chrome ram rods vs. stainless. The Lippert hydraulic lines came that way prior to installation on the RV's. It is assumed that water got into them where ever they were stored, rusted out the inner linings leaving only the outer plastic or what ever material is used (not rubber on the junk they use)to hold the hyd. fluid from bursting. When I bought my rig Lippert would authorize only four of seven out bound from the pump lines to be replaced based on registration numbers on the hoses. After my initial trip out with my rig I noticed that all lines weren't replaced (dealer told me they were). Took it back to Buffalo RV and to Mark Stroll, one of three brother/owners, credit he had his service dept. call in a mobile repair company to switch out the remaining defective line with NYS DOT approved rubber hydraulic lines at the dealers cost. They didn't want to bother with Lippert either.Re: Difference in levelersI think the reference was to stainless steel ram rods, not the whole unit. I have Lippert's hydraulic system on my coach and they had a real issue with hyd. lines being bubbled from corrosion inside the line prior to installation. IMHO Lippert products suck. So far knock on wood I've haven't had any problems. My 2000 Allegro had HWH. When it was about 8 yrs. old one seal started to leak on the left rear ram. At times it seemed like the springs for retraction were getting a bit weak but overall I prefer the HWH system from my Lippert. If you notice, a lot of the quality rigs out there like Tiffin use HWH.Re: Hurricane OwnersGood to hear so many positive responses from Hurricane owners!Re: Brand new 2014.
