All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Yuma, ArizonaI went to Los Algodones yesterday morning. I noticed the town square/Plaza was vacant and all the benches were taken out. There is just some poles and looks like they are building a few shady spots. I asked a local what happened and she told me they were building more seating for the Gringos. I think. My High School Spanish teacher would not be proud. I checked with the pharmacy and yes, they will mail back to the U.S. and Canada. They take credit cards. When I use a credit card, my bill shows up with Pesos and the Credit Card company does the exchange rate to U.S. Dollars. Some cards charge for this service but mine don't. Look online and some of the Pharmacies have web pages with U.S. phone numbers. I bought some Glucophage for a friend's wife cause she gets sick taking the generic. 60 tablets 500 mg made by "Roche" for $17.33. I guess that's a good price. I don't take it.Re: Yuma, ArizonaI have been going to Los Algodones for years buying prescription drugs. It's the exit you take for the Quechan Casino. Just go south on Andrade Rd almost to the end. Before you get to the border there is Quechan Indian Reservation Parking. Turn right into the parking lot and pay $6 to park. DO NOT PARK IN THE CASINO PARKING LOT. It would take you over an hour to walk to the border from there. The Indian reservations parking lot is close but not past the U.S. Customs buildings. Look for PARKING signs. Easy walk on a ramp down to the sidewalk that leads you to Mexico. Once over the border smile and tell the nice guys trying to get you to go to a Dentist, Pharmacy, etc, thank you but you are meeting someone there for lunch. The purple pharmacy is my last resort pharmacy, if the cheaper ones don't have what I want, I go there but most have everything or can get it. Go to the square on Calle 2 just after the purple buildings and ask other American/Canadians, where they go for their prescription drugs/Dentist/Eyeglasses. I go to the "Grupo Americano Drug store. It is 2 doors east of the restaurant "El Paraiso" almost to Alamo Alley. I have never gotten a fake prescription drug nor have I ever heard of any in Algodones. I have even bought generic drugs that are fine. Customs allows me to bring antibiotics viagra cialis to name just a few, without a prescription. They will only allow you to bring over a 90 day supply. You bring too much over the border and customs will question it. So you can get prescription drugs but not Controlled Substances. No vicoden, no cipro 500s, no steroids. C-YaRe: Favorite restaurants in Yuma?Thai Yuma Cuisine in the same shopping center as Da Boyz, Fortuna and S. Frontage Rd. Goldsburough Bakery for Soup and Sandwich lunches and bake goods, Fortuna Rd almost to E 40th. Copper Miner is always crowded during the Snowbird season, on Foothills Blvd. Fortuna Del Oro has a restaurant and it is good during the winter. In and Out Burger on Hwy 95 in front of Sam's Club Papa Murphy's Take and Bake on Pacific. Chick Fil A on Hwy 95 By Sam's and finally! Kraft Macaroni and Cheese from Fry's.Re: Electric or Propane When Paying for Electric?Just checked the APS electric bill and I'm paying a little under 15 cents per kwh. I am in the Foothills, Yuma AZRe: Another Arizona in the Winter QueryI think it is a **** shoot no matter where you go. I have a place in Yuma and last winter, 20014-2015, was a bit cool for about a week at the end of December only. January-April was warm, as in leaving a window open at night.Re: Dental Implants- Los AlgodonesA lot of Algodones Dentist have United States phone numbers so it is easy to call. I don't think all dentist there do implants. Good luck and enjoy Yuma and Algodones.Re: Ever have issues backing the trailer up?The best way to back a trailer is to not get into a hurry.Re: escapees websiteI just tried and got in. I am using Firefox and a Linux system. Good luck to you. MartyRe: Quartzite AZ Desert Captain wrote: slugo4449 wrote: It has been spread all over by farm workers. . You get Valley Fever from microorganisms in the dust, it is not spread person to person. And what do you think is on the boots and shoes they wear when they go to a different area to harvest the crops? Think out of the box!Re: Quartzite AZQuartszite/Yuma are not the only places where Valley Fever is found. The San Joaquin Valley in California and even So. California. It has been spread all over by farm workers. Most people get an extreemly mild case and then never get it again. Some do get bad cases, but very few end up in the hospital. If you have been to the central valley or So. California or Yuma or Quartzsite in the last 30 years you have already been exposed. I don't understand what all the hoopla is about.
