Our favorite corner site has the pin the the corner, so we have to use the power extension and two water hoses to park where I like to.Re: Rancho 9000's or Bilsteins? Crabbypatty wrote: The votes are overwhelmingly for Bilsteins. My Platinum Ford is not lifted so Im going to order the 4600's. Also considering some kind of steering stabilizer as I have had a couple of death wobbles. While it may not cure it all, I dont see how it could hurt. Towing the biggest thing yet and while it rides smooth, I would like to have the odds in my favor. Thank You for your input. Happy Trails My truck is stock and the 5100’s work just fine. The ride height is the same and the ride is great. I also installed a Fox single steering stabilizer and that was a huge improvement also. Very easy install. Word of warning...Anyone that has a ‘17+ Ford Super Duty and a B&W Turnover Ball hitch, the right rear shock is a major pain in the arse. The upper shock mount is about 1” from the hitch. I had to loosen the hitch, slide it to the driver’s side, and still barely got the shock in.Re: 3/4 ton diesel's and payload / GVWR issues SoonerWing03 wrote: Looking at different 3/4 ton trucks and it seems like the 4x4 diesels payloads are going to range 2100 - 2400 ish. That's not much when it comes to covering myself for a possible 5th wheel upgrade down the road. Seems like a 1 ton would be the way to go but it will also be my daily driver to the tune of about 30,000 miles per year. How much of a difference is there in ride quality and fuel economy between the 3/4 tons and the 1 tons? I went from a ‘15 250 to a ‘17 350, hardly any difference in rode or fuel economy. My payload went from 2250 to 3477. When people ask, I don’t even recommend the 250/2500 at all, always tell them to go straight to the 350/3500. The payload is the Achilles heel of the 250/2500’s to keep them in their weight class.Re: Portable air compressor advice is neededViair 400 here and it works great. I went with that so I can get to 110 psi and won’t have to wait all day to get there. I had a cheaper one before and it took forever just to get the truck to 80.Re: Rancho 9000's or Bilsteins?I just put Bilstein 5100’s on my ‘17 F350. Made a huge difference in ride quality over the stock Ford Rancho’s. The stock shocks were very very to compress by hand and slow to rebound. The truck rides and handles much better now, especially when combined with a new Fox steering stabilizer as well. I haven’t tried towing the rv with it yet, but don’t expect any issues. I got them at 4 wheel parts. https://www.4wheelparts.com/p/bilstein-4-5100-series-shocks-for-most-lifted-trucks-with-shock-boots-gas-charged-shockingbil5100/_/R-BBGL-SHOCKINGBIL5100Re: Harley Battery Drains When Traveling Itried wrote: Harleys security system(motion sensor)will still be active even with the FOB present, draining the battery. You will want to find the procedure for your year Harley to place it in Transport mode. What he said.....the security system is probably going off the entire time you’re driving.Re: Gooseneck fifth wheel adapter questionI’ve been using an AUH for over a year and really like it. I also use it with a B&W turnover ball. The AUH is very easy to move around by yourself, and is very easy to connect/disconnect.Re: North Georgia MountainsThank you FFRe: North Georgia MountainsWe’re going to Fort Mountain next week and I’m getting conflicting info if my 39’ Momentum will fit in the CG without tagging a tree. Some say it’ll be snug, but be careful and it’ll fit, and others say don’t even try it. Can anyone with actual experience advise? I’d narrowed it down to Vogel or FM and the available pull thru sites at FM looked to have easier access.Re: 6.7 Diesel fuel mileageWhen towing, I get 11-12 the few times I’ve checked.
