WE have slept 13 people total, yes it was tight , but, it works. The kitchen serves us well, the fridge is more than adequate. The sound system and tv set up is awesome. And its easy to tow at 26 feet closed up, my Tundra easily pulls it and its built to go into some rugged places if u r planning on dragging it off to your favorite off the beaten track fishing hole. I second this. We camp with my wife and 3 smll boys (ages 7, 3, 2) and our retriver dog. We also have a Shamrock 233S. 3 queen beds that fold out, dinette that slides out, couch that converts to a bed. More than enough room. Ours is a 2014 that we just got in June, we have done 4 trips, and it has exceeded our hopes and expectations. Can't reccommend it enough.Re: 2 newbie questions - stability and bug controlThanks ependydad, I meant "stabilizing" jacks, we don't use them for leveling...2 newbie questions - stability and bug controlJust bought our first ever RV (2014 Shamrock 233 Hybrid), and we have used it twice. We have 2 questions... The trailer seems a little wobbly. Our 3 boys (ages 6, 3, 2) run around, and it really gets the trailer rocking a bit (just a bit). I just have the leveling jacks into the ground (if they reach). Should I put blocks under there? Any particular recommendations? Also, I see lots of different options for bug control...candles, bug zappers, etc. One friend recommended a spray that he aprays around the perimeter of his site, he says it works great. What do the experienced folks do?Re: Exactly how important is a slide?i have a new Shamrock 233 (same model as the Rockwood you are looking at), and ours has the slide (not sure when they added the slide). We camp with me, wife, 3 little boys, sometimes the dog. We spend some time inside when the kids need to rest or get out of the sun, or when it's raining. We like the slide, it works for us...Can I install a bike rack on the back of my RV?Hello. My family (wife, 3 young boys) did our first-ever camping trip last weekend, in our new Shamrock hybrid trailer. We left our bikes at home for this trip, but I'm wondering how the heck I'm going to transport 5 bikes. At the campground, amazingly, I was bordered on both sides by families who also had Shamrock hybrids, and both of them bolted a receiver hitch on th eback bumper of the trailer, and then loaded bike racks into the receiver. One family had 4 bikes, the other had 3, both said they had been doing it for years. Seemed like the perfect solution to me. Except I got onto the Forest River website, and in the Frequently Asked Quetions section, it specifically said that doing this was a no-no. Any thoughts? I tow with an SUV, not a pickup. I'd love to bring 5 bikes with us.
