I will make an appointment to get it aligned and checked out. The biggest problem with that, is the nearest reputable alignment shop for RV's is 70 miles away in Reno and they need the rig the entire day. But looks like I will have to do it, at least for peace of mind. Thanks for the replies. you can take it to any truck center, they have to check your front end first. If anything has to be replaced, then they will aline the front end, not before. If the rig is out of line, you can see it on the wear your tires. But for safety sake, let a mechanic do it.Re: cleaning fresh water tank therink wrote: Pretty straight forward. I add about 1/2 cup bleach, fill tank with water, run each faucet to purge lines with bleach solution, let sit for about a day, drain tank, refill with water, drain tank, refill with water and then purge out all lines with non bleach water. Good to go. That's about as basic as it gets and it works. The only thing I do differently is to drive it a few miles or less with the bleach in it. Kinda shake things up...Re: Tire PressureAsk yourself, When your driving your car, suv or 12 passenger van on a trip do you adjust you tire psi if there is only two passengers? Do OTR busses change their psi if they only have 15 passengers instead of 40 or what ever their cap is? My suggestion is to follow the psi settings posted for your unit... This does not mean not to check for proper weight distribution....Re: Play in steering wheel = nerve wracking! You need to check that out asap, there should not be any "play" in your steering. Let a qualified mechanic check your steering system and front end.Re: Traveling FT vs being anchoredReading these post makes me feel I’m a total opposite, for the most part. I’ve always wanted to full time, best I’ve ever done has been weeks at a time. Now I’ll be 75 in a few weeks, just getting over a bout with cancer. I sold my MH two years ago when I was first diagnosed with cancer. Now my exit plan (to coin the fraise) is to sell everything I can’t fit into my next MH and live my dream. That means selling the house and all of its contents. I’m in good health so far, and now understand I have to do what is going to make me happy. I’m tired of trying to maintain this house, cutting the grass, and shoveling this endless snow at my age. Everyone’s story here is different. We have to work out the details and not be afraid to take that step. That’s what life is all about, living…. I have looked at the construction specs for the Winnebago but have not been able to find exactly what I am looking for for the other two mh in the running. I'm getting way too old to be climbing on the roof to treat/clean a rubber roof. With that said, I've been advised that the only mh with the fiberglass roof, which supposedly has less need for maintenance, is that made by Winnebago. Does anyone have a different opinion? In a trailer/5th wheel the Thor is well made, from what I can see, but is extremely heavy. Thoughts about mhs made by Thor? I have absolutely no knowledge of the fleetwood whatsoever. My must or really wants are counter space in the kitchen, the Winnebago lacks this; prefer no carpet except in the bedroom; at least two slides which give, if nothing else, the illusion of more space. Any help anyone can supply will be greatly appreciated. Look into a Airstream Land Yacht. The quality is outstanding, but most only have one slide in the size/gas your looking for.Re: Memorial Day path1 wrote: Thank you for posting link! My guess is 99% of the people driving on the road in ANY vehicle are NOT mechanics. :B The other 1% are licensed mechanic and they can be involved in and cause of an accident just like everyone else. Their knowledge of how to replace a piston does not make them any safer of a driver. Knowing what and how an engine, drive train, etc., works or being capable of fixing it does not equate to driving capabilities.:R If you are basing your concerns on overall length of the vehicle. Then you would have to include EVERY single vehicle that pulls a trailer from the construction worker, horse owner pulling a trailer, and all the other drivers pulling RV's. ...After all an A is sometime as big as an 18 wheeler... I have yet to see a MH that is as long as an 18 wheel Semi tractor trailer. Is Prevost making a double stretch coach now that I don't about?!!:W I agree with You! I have a CDL A and I'm Not a mechanic. I have Not seen a MH A as long as a Tractor pulling a 53' trailer. Some of the largest frieght companies e.g. Swift, Stevens, JB Hunt, to name a few have their tractors speed set between 62 and 68mph. I drive in the right hand lane or center lane depending, at a slower speed for safty and to save. As of yet, i have never seen a RV'er driving unsafely in a A or any other RV. No matter how long You have been driving, no matter what you have been driving, everyone makes mistakes and has to learn to deal with others mistakes... I have yet to see a Class A MH driver talking on a cell when driving, i can't say that for tractor trailer (18 wheeler) drivers. One out of ten i see are on the phone, and that's scary. Maybe that's why so many are flipping over around here in NJ and PA.Re: Hand Guns cabanaman wrote: Shotgun is my prefered home defence .
