One major drawback: There is NO manual override should one of the BigFoot hydraulic jacks fail. Recently we had one of the front jacks fail to retract and we could not move the trailer in that condition. I called the BigFoot 24 hour tech line and they diagnosed a pump failure. To raise the jack for travel we had to bleed 64 ounces of ATF fluid (what a mess!) and obtain a floor jack to raise the failed jack. I understand that there are some hydraulic jack systems that do have a manual override.Re: Electric dump valvesCan you provide a photo of your fix for those of us whom are not so electrically inclined?Re: Alpenlite Electric Dump ValvesAlso, I would first check to see if the fuse blew.Re: Alpenlite Electric Dump ValvesAre your valves made by DrainMaster? If so, they have a manual override. Their valves either require a screwdriver (older valves) or an allen wrench. If they are the older valves you can easily strip the screw head. You will have to remove the underbelly to gain access to the valve. You will also need a flashlight to see which direction to turn the manual override because it's hard to read the imprint in normal light.Re: return air on fifth wheelI had the same issue with my trailer. Realizing that you cannot restrict the vent air flow, I choose to have my furnace encased with plywood and I attached heat resistant insulation to that plywood. That was 9 years ago and my furnace works fine with minimal draft coming from my uninsulated storage compartment where the furnace is located.Re: Electric Valves Grey & Black waterI have 3 Drain Master valves on my 2005 rig that I bought new. Originally, I had one valve that was creating problems. A review of my owner's manual quickly revealed that the valves were mounted in the incorrect position. The rigs' design and placement location of the valves do not allow for proper mounting. I have inspection hatches cut into my underbelly for easy access. I can manually override any valve in 10 minutes or less. Another problem that I found was the 4 bolts on the valve were over tighten. Sometimes when a valve sticks, which is now rare, I can merely loosen the 4 bolts, operate the valve several times, and re-tighten the bolts and all is well. Since I'm a full-timer, my valves get a weekly workout. And, two of my valves are so old that they have the old screwdriver manual override instead of the newer allen wrench fitting. I'm pleased with my electric valves!
