It sucks that it is where it is because its nearly inaccessible but short of ripping out the fridge and cabinets that's all I can do. We haven't used the water system in the camper for a couple years so I'm not sure how or when it broke I was even on the fence about running more antifreeze through it but figured it couldn't hurt. Anyway thanks again!Rockwood 8280 water filter brokeI posted this on the Forest River forum earlier but thought I'd try here as well. I Was getting our RV ready to put in storage when the water filter housing either broke or was already broken. Regardless I'm not sure how much antifreeze got pumped onto the floor I'd say it was flowing for a solid couple minutes. I got it cleaned up as best I could but most of it ran behind the fridge and then through the floor. I've been down the road of a water damaged RV before and this has me really concerned. In addition to getting wet is there any other damage that can be done because it was antifreeze?Re: Protecting Power Cord from Theft Lantley wrote: gparrow wrote: Two years ago a group of people broke into the fairground barns that are used up here for winter RV and boat storage. Over 300 RV's and boats were stored on site and only a handful did NOT have the power cords and pigtails stolen. The lucky ones that did not have their storage compartments locked only had the cords stolen, the ones that were locked were pried open and most had significant damage to the door and door frames. Not saying its a common occurrence but just because its never been reported on the Open Roads forum don't mean it doesn't happen. Apples and oranges vs. having a cord stolen Ummm that's exactly what was stolen, pigtails AND POWER CORDS, the point being that for whatever reason there is a market for this stuff, but whatever apples and oranges I guess.Re: Protecting Power Cord from TheftTwo years ago a group of people broke into the fairground barns that are used up here for winter RV and boat storage. I've tried a couple contact email addresses and can't get anyone to respond.Re: Pin BoxI don't think you want to do that, in addition to moving the chin foreword you will also be shifting the main floor part foreword. Decreasing that distance by any amount that would be of benefit to the pin box would probably cause your bumper to hit the bottom front of the fiver.Forest River Rockwood Ultra Lite seamsI'm just woundering if anyone else has come across any problems with the trim separating or on sides st the front of the chin on the Rockwood Ultra Lite models. I noticed it on ours a couple years ago and usually take it in once a year and have it checked and re-caulked, the say they see it fairly often. So i was walking the lot at a Rockwood dealer recently and specificlly wanted to see what the same seam looks like on new ones, every single one had the same separation (Brand New Units) I'll grant you it's not a lot maybe 1/8th of an inch. I've had my pin box inspected multiple times and one tech told me that there will allways be some amount of flex and that the corners front more so than rear take the brunt of it. So basically i'm just asking if anyone has come across this on their Rockwood and if you found a fix?Re: 6.O diesal Truck trade or fixFor what it's worth, and based on my own opinion of some comments on here thats probably not much. I've owned many many HD diesel trucks over the years, everything from 6.9 Fords and 6.2 GM's to an 07 Cummins and that includes an 04 Ford 6.0. We still own the 04 6.0 and yes we put about $2,000 into it as a prevetative measure. In 8 years and 230,000 miles it's never left us stranded, never missed a beat, it starts better in the cold and pulls just as well as the Cummins which has quit on us twice. If you like the truck put the money into it and keep on truckin.Re: towing 5th wheel with short bed Ford F250 Copperlisa wrote: We have a short bed and no slider. I'm glad we went that route rather than investing in a slider because we've never had the need to use it in 4+ yearsRe: First Trip in New to Me F350 VoodooMedicineMan wrote: Keep your eye on the anti-freeze degas bottle. If you start using anti-freeze but don't see a leak anywhere you have the dreaded egr cooler problem. BTDT. Depends on how many miles it has but chances are it's allready had it happen at least once it just depends on what they did to fix it the first time as to wheather it will happen again. Easiest thing to do is check and see if it has ARP head studs, if it does chances are it will be fine.
