Find out if it's an ISB, ISC, ISL or what the engine size is, ISC or ISL will always pull great, they are high torque motors. ISB just lets them advertise diesel motors.Re: Surge protector? plasticmaster wrote: Okay, another really dumb question, but i have to ask. If the pedestal were wired wrong or had a bad ground, wouldn't the person who was on that site just hours before you have reported it to campground manager? I'm just trying to understand all of this. In some cases yes, in places that flood a bunch someone has to hook up first. Never know what happens while the site is under water. I had bad rain one night, woke up with water past my wheels ( I was in the lake, scary ) I had my cord off the ground, but water can cause crazy shorts under ground and at the box. I unhooked and drove off as fast as I could, only about 3 inches of water.Re: 4 Season Travel Trailer - Central VA4 season is nothing more than advertising. R-20 is the norm of even the nicest of trailers. Houses struggle and they are r-30-40 with 18 inches of insulation. If the maker of the RV adds the r value of all the materials used, they get a larger number. If they tested the r value of all the materials used it would be way less. That's how they get by with high numbers. So, that being said. Get what you like. Get an enclosed under belly. If your going to North Dakota put a skirt around it, don't over think it. Double pane rv glass has a .5 r value and is not gas filled. It will keep the moisture build up from happening, but hard to justify the cost. My 2 cents, take it or leave it.Re: Breaker Keeps TrippingBreakers are only good for so many resets. Check the breaker as well. I had a break do the same thing. Turns out the ceramic in the breaker was broken. Just one more option for yaRe: Portable or hardwire surge protector.Mine is a Surge Guard 34520 No bypass and work just great. Hard wire. Can have a digital read out if needed. China made, but I got on Ebay usedRe: Active Duty Retiring - Should I Full-Time?I did my service and my wife has always wanted to do full time RV. We ended up putting it off. Wish I would have just got right into it. Now I have a house and many obligations that are making it difficult. But we are slowly working into making it happen. My 2 cents, go for it. Your fresh out of the military, don't own to much (I hope) and you have insurance. Hit the road, you owe it to yourself and have earned it.Re: New From KansasWelcome! Hope you come to love us. We can be a crazy group of people at times. But we always come up with a result.Re: RV Insurance for my new Keystone Bullet Travel TrailerI used progressive, Most all insurance company's will pass it on to progressive any how. I live in Oklahoma with lots of hail and bad weather. Mine is $300 a year. I called a lot of insurance company's AAA, Farmers, USAA. Progressive won. 2011 Bullet PremierRe: Confused on slideout maintenanceThe issue with Schwintek is that you have to take your time and align everything just right, but most people are assembling on the line and doing it fast. This is were you get issues. Lippert new style has room to flex allowing room for error. I have worked on a ton of the systems, Don't lube it or you will be sorry. Just saying from experience. If you want to lube them, go right ahead. But as mentioned above, dry lube and wipe clean.Re: Portable or hardwire surge protector. IAMICHABOD wrote: If it goes out you dont have to re connect the wires, just use the bypass switch. "Bypass switch: This switch is located on the remote panel, and allows the user to bypass the computer circuit in the EMS in the event of computer failure, thus allowing source power into the RV. This does not disable the surge protection portion of the EMS." Mine has no bypass, but that would be a nice option
