ByeOnan Gen Starts then Shuts DownFYI: Did extensive reading/viewing about this problem.(I have an Onan 5500 Marques Gold 2008.) Replacing fuel pump, filter and oil sensor did not resolve the problem but what did work was running 2 to 1 ratio of gas to Sea Foam through gen. Performed starting procedure by disconnecting fuel line from fuel filter and attaching 1/4" gas line from filter to mason jar with sea foam mixture. Gen started for 10-20 seconds then shut down several times but I managed to get the mixture into the carb. Allow 1-2 hours for mixture to sit in carb then restart. Ran like a champ with or without a load. ❚ Did you see the "Announcement : ★★READ BEFORE POSTING HERE★★"? Moved from FORUM TECHNICAL SUPPORT Re: Anti-freeze in fresh water tankI thought maybe a low spot in the FW tank might require anti-freeze but a small amount of water, that does not drain completely, should not be a problem.Re: Anti-freeze in fresh water tankThanks to all of you. My rig does have plumbing for pumping anti-freeze into all the lines as well as a bi-pass for the hot h2o tank. I don't understand why the manual would recommend dumping anti-freeze into FW tank???Anti-freeze in fresh water tankMy manual says to add 5 gallons of non-toxic antifreeze to fresh water tank. I have not seen or heard of this. I thought draining tank would be sufficient for winterization. My current knowledge is to never but anything in fresh water tank other than fresh water or fresh water and chlorine to sanitize/Re: Furnace QuestionThanksRe: Furnace QuestionNoticed ceiling ac vents have the ability to be closed. This would save heat, would it not? Does heat escape through such vents?Re: Furnace QuestionThanks to all of you for your comments. My plan will be to close off the hallway containing the thermostat, bath and bedroom while allowing the open living room and driver area to rely on the lone output vent. This should keep the sleeping area toasty while saving propane and preventing the need for the furnace click on and off so often. Roadrat
