Onan Gen Starts then Shuts Down
FYI: Did extensive reading/viewing about this problem.(I have an Onan 5500 Marques Gold 2008.) Replacing fuel pump, filter and oil sensor did not resolve the problem but what did work was running 2 to 1 ratio of gas to Sea Foam through gen. Performed starting procedure by disconnecting fuel line from fuel filter and attaching 1/4" gas line from filter to mason jar with sea foam mixture. Gen started for 10-20 seconds then shut down several times but I managed to get the mixture into the carb. Allow 1-2 hours for mixture to sit in carb then restart. Does anyone run a Cpap off an inverter? I have two 6 volt batteries on the coach. Will I be able to run the Cpap all night on fully charged batteries? My manual says to add 5 gallons of non-toxic antifreeze to fresh water tank. I have not seen or heard of this. I thought draining tank would be sufficient for winterization. My current knowledge is to never but anything in fresh water tank other than fresh water or fresh water and chlorine to sanitize/6.4KViews0likes25Comments- 658Views0likes0Comments
Re: Furnace Question
Thanks to all of you for your comments. My plan will be to close off the hallway containing the thermostat, bath and bedroom while allowing the open living room and driver area to rely on the lone output vent. This should keep the sleeping area toasty while saving propane and preventing the need for the furnace click on and off so often. Roadrat657Views0likes0Comments
