We would wire a male plug on the end of the romex (trailer outlets) and mount an outlet to plug this unit in. If you take the cover off, there are 4 screw holes you can use to fasten it to the floor of the trailer. I drove from Pittsburgh to Hershey getting around 10 mpg. Drive back was about 8 mpg I was towing a 11k 5th wheel I get 12-13 mpg on the highway unloaded. I have the crew cab short bed.
