ScorpRe: necessary to get res for Lake SuperiorOne or two gas stations in White River. Dont know if they have diesel but expect so as there is an active logging business there. ScorpRe: Northern Woods And Water HighwayHamner...it that where they filmed Letterkenny? If this comment was addressed to me, best check your spelling. my address is HaNMer. Have never heard of Letterkenny.....must have had a sheltered life?Re: Northern Woods And Water HighwayI have never heard of that name before. Had to google it. The usual second choice is the Yellow Head Hwy or hwy 11 which angles NW from Manitoba up to Edmonton. From the map of NWWH I would suggest that you will be on many secondary hwys in northern Man. and Sask. and terrain will be typical of northern boreal with small lakes and rivers. You are mainly north of the Can. prairies. But, I have never done that entire route so am no expert. ScorpRe: James Bay RoadGoogle James Bay Road. Lots of good information there , even maps. ScorpPemex locations on Google earthThis may be old hat to some, but will post for the benefit of those who have not seen/used it before. A map of Mexico showing all(?) Pemex locations using Google Earth. Scorp http://guiapemex.pemex.com/SitePages/home.aspx#!Re: West Through Northern Ontario Route 11 or 17?Lived in northern Ontario my whole life. Early November will be "iffy". An early Nov. snowstorm is very possible, as is fine sunny weather. its a **** shoot. This comment would probably apply for your whole trip west. ScorpRe: West Through Northern Ontario Route 11 or 17?Re 4 laning on 17. About 25 kms around Sud, about 25 east of SSM (doesnt by pass the city) and about 30 kms east of TBay. Lots of passing lanes on the hills and curves so not really a problem that way. Construction was mainly bridge replacements and controlled with traffic lights. Some rock work around Nipigon. Drove Sud to Dryden early this Aug. ScorpRe: ontario provincial parks disability discountsJust checked with someone at ontariotravel.net and they indicated that there are NO discounts for non-residents of Ontario. Scorp.Re: ontario provincial parks disability discountsYou might want to check further on that. Discounts to Ontario parks are for Ontario residents as I read their web page. " Question: Does Ontario Parks offer any discounts on park fees? Answer: Ontario Parks offers discounts on day-use and camping fees to Ontario residents aged 65 and over and Ontario residents who possess a CNIB identity card or Ministry of Transportation accessible parking permit. When making a telephone reservation, please advise the call-centre agents of your eligibility for a discount. You will be required to show proof of your eligibility when you arrive at the park. Reduced campground rates apply to Ontario senior citizens and their spouse who may be any age and persons in the same party under the age of 18 who occupy the campsite. Persons aged 18 to 64 inclusive, who are in the same party, or visit and occupy the campsite, are required to pay full rates." I can find no reference to non-resident fees for disabilities or veterans. A further check would be in order. Scorp.
