We decided to hold off on the 260BHLE and instead go with one of the bigger models prob but I need save up a bit more dough to do that. We upgraded our truck to a 2017 Ram Megacab 3500 with the cummins and aisin. It has just under 4000lb payload. ThanksRe: Ford 2.7 F150 & About to buy Sportsmen LE 260BHLEConsidering cummins 6.7Re: Ford 2.7 F150 & About to buy Sportsmen LE 260BHLEAccording to Ford website with my axles and cab etc it's 7500 max tow. We are considering changing to 3/4+ because of payload. Dear 5.0 asshat, you're just butt hurt you didn't get an ecoboost with turbo! Anyway yes we have a payload issue. For the trailer we picked outRe: Ford 2.7 F150 & About to buy Sportsmen LE 260BHLEDear 5.0 owner, You don't know **** about a 2.7 you've never owned one. When you put a trailer on my truck (plug in the wiring) truck goes into tow mode and the stop start feature is disabled. Plus there is a manual button to shut it off above radio. This feature saves 1 mpg in city driving vs not having it (when not having a trailer hooked up on a normal day) 2.7 with boost is more displacement than a 5.0L. Turbo through thin air is better than your naturally aspirated engine. My question is about payload and your 5.0 isn't going to increase that, I'd have to go to a 3/4 ton prob, or a rubber floor basic truck. You sound like a guy who has no idea what they are talking about and assumes this with a new fangled turbo small displacement engine there is no way it can pull. You even went as far as to mention the 3.5 Eco post being too small for towing also. Let me guess you watch a black and white Tv at your house because there's just not comparison in picture quality to a flat screen. You should Own a turbo truck from today's many choices then open your mouth.Re: Ford 2.7 F150 & About to buy Sportsmen LE 260BHLESo I take it you guys' 2.7s are not loaded they're XLTSRe: Ford 2.7 F150 & About to buy Sportsmen LE 260BHLEThanks manRe: Ford 2.7 F150 & About to buy Sportsmen LE 260BHLETreyster, details on trailer?Re: Ford 2.7 F150 & About to buy Sportsmen LE 260BHLERear Gawr 3300 is that it?Re: Ford 2.7 F150 & About to buy Sportsmen LE 260BHLEHow do I find out rawr? My truck has integrated brake controller factory one being installed this week it did not come with but it can be added at dealer plug is there behind dash I was told by captial Ford. 300$ installed and programmed. Won't be leaving without itRe: Ford 2.7 F150 & About to buy Sportsmen LE 260BHLEOne other thing. The tires my truck came with are 20" "off road tires" so that means the sticker is basing it on the factory hankook off readers I have. I currently run a set of 17" michellin winter ltx with Ford steel rims in winter, maybe I just get a set of the steel wheels and the towing tires "semi 10 ply" you guys mention? That should do the trick? I have no problem doing that. Can get a lighter camper but they want 2-8k more because those ones are fibreglass
