I bought the 08 new in 08 so I have been doing this for 14 years. One thing I do is open a paper clip & poke into the hole to start with & that breaks the spring loaded cap inside the hole free & the grease seems to go in better....Grease Ram front U jointHas Dodge or Ram changed the needle grease joint in the U joint from the transfer case to the front pumpkin on 4 wheel drives in later years. I just finished greasing my 08 Ram and it is a real pain in the butt. Finding the hole to get the needle in, then holding the needle in & pumping the grease gun while laying on your back. A lot of places don't even know its there. A zerk fitting would be much easier...Re: Winterizing Residential FridgeOK, Thanks Reisender & Mgirardo. That is what I was hoping to hear. My Fridge does not have the "water" in the door, just the ice machine. I can certainly clean up the small mess of pink antifreeze in the ice tray/bucket, just knowing it came thru the ice maker. That is what I was not sure of how or if that would work since I knew it would not freeze. But I understand now that you get pink ice to start with mixing with the existing water in the line first, then pink slush after. Dewinterizing, throw out the first few pink ice cubes, then add a couple fingers of whiskey to the cubes and enjoy the dewinterizing process... I'll do it this weekend. Thanks again...Winterizing Residential FridgeI have the Samsung RF18 Fridge with Ice Maker. After checking various google posts & forums on how to winterize it, there appears to be no easy way. Everything from accessing the back of the fridge (its in a slide) remove the water line, removing the actual ice making thingy, make a jumper wire for the water solenoid, and other various scenario's. I feel like I'm trying to "redesign the guidance system" on a cruise missile. Has anyone done this? After pumping the pink antifreeze thru the water lines & opening & closing all the various spigot's just leave the pump on with the hose in the gallon of pink antifreeze and turn on the fridge ice maker. I know the antifreeze will not freeze in the ice maker. Will this work & will the ice maker dump the pink antifreeze so you know it has pumped through the ice maker? Anyone have any actual advice of what I can expect? Thanks.... Or should I just head for Florida....Re: Residential Stove/OvenTom_M... I think if you unscrew the top of your igniter or clicker to light the burners, you will find a AA battery. It will light the burner if no plug in is available. At least that is what I have, but I have an oven as well as burners on top....Re: I 70 in Ohio to Somerset PA staying off PA turnpikeI-70 from Ohio, I would take the I-470 bypass around Wheeling WV, then back on I-70 thru Washington, Pa and on to Rt 31 East. Rt 31 follows the turnpike and runs right into Summerset, Pa. Rt 31 is used as a detour if there is a problem / wreck on the turnpike.RV Keyless lockI want to buy one for my 5th wheel, but like everything there are several makes & types and pricing from around 100 to 250 dollars. I know nothing about them and my question is if you have one do you like it. What do I need to make sure I get, like do they have a back light of some type to see the key pad in the dark. Is that light on all the time or do you have to hit or touch something to turn it on. How long do the batteries last in them. Thanks for any info....Re: Battery & cut off switchOK, so I finally got back to the 5er from about 10 days ago. I charged the battery then and disconnected the negative wire on the battery. It was still fully charged, 12.84 on the multimeter after about 10/11 days. I hooked up the negative wire to the battery then turned off the battery switch and opened up the fuse box and started removing the 15 amp blue fuses and checking each one as curt12914 said to do. There were 10, 15 amp blue fuses. 9 registered 0.0 on the meter. One registered .35 on the multimeter. I guess that is .35 volts. This is the fuse marked TV / Radio. There are 2 flat screen TV's and a Radio/DVD/DVS player in the 5er. When I check my meter on a new AA Battery it registers 1.57 on a 1.5 volt battery. So my fix is to just leave the 15amp fuse out of the TV/Radio slot. Replacing the fuse takes 2 minuets. I can plug the 5er in as there is 50amp service, but until I am going to use it, I leave it unplugged. Why have power to the power center/converter charger with the fan coming on & off, along with the invertor & fan on & off. I just didn't want the battery going dead every week or 10 days. Thanks again curt12914.....Re: Quad Bike mounted to ladder?I wouldn't strap a 50 dollar bike to the back ladder let alone a 5 thousand dollar one. The ladder on the back of any trailer, 5er or travel trailer is like the end of the line on the old "crack the whip" kids use to play. The lateral "G" force on any small move left or right in & out of traffic at 65mph is huge. Also the up & down "G" force going over bridge "expansion" joints on about 75% of every interstate bridge is the same. I have thought how is the 5er still hooked up after crossing some bridge expansion joints and that is just behind in the bed of the truck, not 43 feet behind the hitch.. Make sure your insurance is up to date....Re: Battery & cut off switchThere is nothing added since it was built. It does have electric slides & the auto leveling system, hydraulic but electric pump, but I don't think any of those will work when the battery shut off is in the off position. I will try & check the battery post & cable first to see what the draw is...
