Running the van motor for electrical power ( dual alt as described below) will get you a fine in many US cities for idling- you just can;t do that. and it is wear on your van motor. false economy. most diesels will have to hgh idle to keep the oil pressure up. just a short while ago I was aware of the loud campground host vs high idling diesel owner arguing about noise and 10 pm genny limitation and etc etc. the camper left MikeRe: Proper way to hand crank out Roadtrek awning?oh man. you may know that Fiamma had a mass murder, and probably not operating. gowesty.com is where I have been getting my fiamma parts- and usually cheaper than fiamma was. not sure about your concern or the fix...I will look more closely at my awning next time I use. I have been extending legs to ground and 'walking" it out to try toreduce the weight load on the van mounts...so it takes a minute. if i have help, I can put a hook in my dewalt and Spouse can "crank it" while I support the awning to extension. Thanks for posting I'll look at mine and maybe prevent same happening mikeRe: All drains running slow and grey tank emptyI have a PW- my shower drain is essentially right into the top of my grey tank. We don;t use our shower and a have used teflon tape to seal the drain cap ( under pressure, ours too would bubble)... I think that someone has hit the nail where you vent for the grey tank isn't venting properly ( on our model the grey vent is on the side of the van about 20" above the sink drain- it T's off under the sink) with normal atmospheric pressure you should be draining fine with out an obstruction in the pipes my black vent was also just a stub of pipe- a $20 Lippert 360ยบ venturi causes a low pressure at the pipe with the slightest breeze- this has solved any odor problems esp when driving and opening a window ( in which case the van become low pressure and air can be pushed down the stub and gasses into the van). MikeRe: Which Roadtrek front shocks? 9000 GVWRI know this isn't easy- I just went through this on my 2005 chev 3500 based pleasure way. In the end I used the vehicle tool at the bilstein website for the 2005 chev 3500 chassis- and found F&R candidates- a search using those part numbers showed it was a popular fit for r/t and p/w B's on the chev. best pricing was tire rack .com- about $82 each- I saved about $65 over amazon I have not done a trip yet, but a little local driving shows big improvement- but then I think mine were so worn anything woul dbe an improvement.. I did my pick up at the same time and it is MUCH better than the edelbrocks I had on there MikeRe: 1990 dodge roadtrekbe more specific do you get R, N D ,2,1 ? if you put in D and rev..does the motor rev freely like no load or does it strain...in R? if the fluid level correct are you parked on level ground the more detailed you can be- it helps to rule out possible causes you can't assume this will fix itself...cause when it fails it won;t fail in front of a tranny shop mikeRe: 1990 dodge roadtrekis the gear lever working as usual- does it seem to move a linkage...do you hear stuff moving when you move the lever? ( I once had my linkage get funky on a long drive across the desert...and found out when i stopped for gas...luckily able to fix with a found bent nail) what happens when it doesn;t move- just revving? fluid level? mikeRe: Camping in Europe, where to get a used class B drsolo wrote: I get the main page and then the links go nowhere. sigh. I checked before posting and the website was up- and it is up now. pick up locations in the UK, London, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Belfast and in Dublin. units from 2 sleeper vans and pop tops to 4 and 6 sleeper "b+" & C types Once you are a known user they also email out special offers when they need new units moved from build in Italy to the UK- basically they give you 2 weeks and cover the ins. you cover the diesel MikeRe: Camping in Europe, where to get a used class BI have used http://www.bunkcampers.com/ fun! MikeRe: Ten year rule with a class "B"?never been asked. guess I'm not staying in the "nice places" Mike
