Roo 233S arrived for dealer stock on Tuesday, Deposit made on Wednesday. Rock wood has a good selection I think. I just got the rockwood roo 233s and had to have it delivered from ohio because they r so rare here. Haven't used it in the wild yet but am loving it from what I can tell so far. :)Re: Rv wholesalers...I am honestly having a very hard time finding much in hybrids locally. I am in the inland empire area and would drive a little ways to buy but can't do a huge road trip at this point. The model we have settled on is the 233S and we have found the 23IKSS and the 21SS and nothing more. I have 3 people I have spoken to as of now... 1 being rvwholesalers, camping world and mcmahons rv (local) Any of them would have to order or locate to have them delivered. I somehow hadn't realized the rvw delivery person wouldn't be able to to the walkthru. The camping world woman I spoke with told me the person they would use for delivery would be able to walk me thru everything and have complete knowledge of the trailer.(not sure how true this is tho) best price with delivery is rvw although I haven't sat and negotiated with the local dealer. We r now officially ready to buy and feel stuck. Never thought buying something could be so difficult?Rv wholesalers...I am wondering how good their nationwide service network really is? The map of course shows a thousand places that will service a trailer but I am wondering has anyone had a bad experience or just lives their network as far as servicing goes? There I no dealership here that physically carries the roo 233s, which is what we have decided on. Of course some will order for me but prices rnt as good as rv wholesalers.Cracking and peeling roofHi, I am sort of new here. We have a '97 Colman Santa Fe that has lived a full life! We just noticed that under where the awning connects there is part of the roof chipped away. Looks like water got into there maybe. We are planning on trying that flex seal (as seen on tv) to seal it up and maybe prevent more splitting. Has anyone tried this before? I have heard great things about what it can fix outside of trailers. Also the rubber seal around the top is coming off. We have tried gorilla glue (I think it was) to get it back in place with no help. I plan on buying a hybrid before next summer so don't need to fix this stuff but would love to prevent more wearing or damage if it could be done easily.Re: Hybrid with a big family atreis wrote: I found that particular item puzzling. I'm a short guy and have no problem closing up the queen bunk on our trailer, and have very rarely needed to use a stool to reach the latches or handle (only if the site is REALLY unlevel). Good to know! :)Re: Campfire Pizza!Pie irons, sounds like something I might need! We use the pre made boboli crust just throw on the BBQ. Fav pizza is a Mexican pizza with some spicy salsa mixed with the pizza sauce and top with carne asada, cheddar cheese, olives, green onions, jalapeños and cilantro to finish it off. Great way to use up leftover carne asada and stretch it into 2 days.Re: Suggest a meal..Steak and potato soup is a go to for me when serving a big crowd. For our trip this weekend I am thinking of making this sort of Mexican chili called beef tinga (Rachel ray) serve with tortillas and for my little ones I just add a little of the chili in a quesadilla with sour cream to cool it down a little. Also I admit I sometimes cheat and cook big pots at home and reheat when camping. Things like this usually taste better the next day anyhow. Ingredients 2 pounds beef chuck, cut into 1 1/2-inch cubes Salt and pepper Flour, for dredging 3 tablespoons corn oil 1 pound Mexican chorizo (fresh), about 1 pound, casings removed 1 large onion, chopped 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced 1/2 tablespoon cumin, half a palmful 1/2 tablespoon Mexican oregano, half a palmful 1/2 tablespoon ground coriander, half a palmful 1 can beef consommé or 1 1/2 cups beef stock 1 14.5-ounce can diced tomatoes or fire-roasted diced tomatoes 1 to 2 tablespoons puréed chipotle in adobo for a medium to extra-spicy heat level 1 tablespoon honey For Serving: Flour tortillas, warmed Wedges of lime Queso fresco, crumbled Sliced fresh or pickled jalapeño peppers Thinly sliced red onions Yields: 4-6 Preparation Preheat oven to 325°F. (Or cook on stove top or even crock pot) Pat meat dry and season with salt and pepper. Dredge pieces in flour. Heat a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat with the oil. Add meat and brown in batches until very brown; remove to a plate, add chorizo and brown. Add onions, garlic, cumin, oregano, coriander and let onions soften a few minutes. Add in stock, tomatoes, chipotle purée, honey and reserved meat to the pot. Bring to a boil and transfer to oven. Cook 1 1/2 hours, until very tender. Serve in shallow bowls with tortillas, lime wedges, queso fresco, jalapeños and onions alongside. We like to make little tacos out of the stew as we eat it. Carne asada tacos are always an easy go to also.Re: Why is this subforum so slow next to Hybrid & TT subforums?I am pretty new here, have been nosing around a lot. I am liking it a lot and find quite a bit of people very helpful! i also have found a few who talk down on others which is a turn off but overall this seems to be a very helpful forum. :) We own a 97 Coleman Santa Fe pop up and it has been used like crazy! Bought it back when we were kids pretty much and it held up to many poker parties back in the day. :) now, close to 20 years later, we have beyond outgrown it with our 2 little ones camping with us. We are in search of a htt now but would highly recommend a tent trailer to anyone wanting a step up from a tent. Ours has withstood crazy wind storms, snow, hail etc. never a leak or anything major in all these years.Re: Hybrid with a big familyNewer here and loving this site! I have been in search of a htt and am loving the idea of so much space and bed room for kids etc. I never thought of how tough closing up the beds would be tho, interesting point! Lol
