It is from the resonance that results from the pump being on solid surfaces. As a test, turn your phone to "vibrate only," then place it on a table and call it. You will be surprised how LOUD that vibrate only is. You need to cushion your water pump from the floor with something soft, like rubber. If you have rigid water lines attached, you need to put flexible hose between the water pump and the rigid water line. Thanks! Will be checking that out.Re: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & GizmosHoping someone can answer this ... Is there such a thing as a quiet water pump? Ours is so noisy when we are dry camping. It's especially loud in the middle of the night when others are trying to sleep. Shurflo claims to have one. Does anyone have experience with it? Thanks!Re: Cool Mods - Thread restored 10/18/2012Love the Cool Mods! DH built shelves in the closets on each side of the bed so that we could store more folded clothes there (didn't need the hanging space). Since they are deep shelves, we recently added some light weight boards (foam core) cut to size for each shelf. I can now have two stacks of shirts on the shelf and pull the board out to easily reach the shirts in the back. It's also nice for my single stack of pants, so that I can easily pull them out in a stack to select the pair I want to wear. We also added the magnetic child proof latches to a couple cupboard doors and a couple large, heavy drawers (that DH had made). They can be locked when travelling and then unlocked when at camp. I added my own personal touch to the spare tire cover. (Sorry it's sideways.) Can turn the light off as normal. Light says it can be used as both motion activated or standard porch light. Also says it wires in to the current coach wiring/battery. Thank you.Re: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & GizmosWas thinking about this thread just the other day and realizing I hadn't seen anything new. I haven't done it yet, but I'm considering a motion-activated light near the door for when we forget to leave our porch light on. It may have to be one that we remove when we are on the road. Does anyone have a good idea for this?Re: Cool Mods - Thread restored 10/18/2012That's nice, jfkmk! My advice is to be sure not to forget what you put in it. I looked high and low for some sheets that I had put in my ottoman! LOL Mine's just a small round one. Very handy though.Re: Cool Mods - Thread restored 10/18/2012WeAreFive ~ We bought a Keystone Bullet a couple years ago and have made many of the mods you have: 4 sets of hooks here and there, many battery-powered LED lights, shelves in closets, including the small ones beside the beds, slide topper, Fantastic Fans, memory foam mattress pad … DH also built 6 drawers where deep, inaccessible cupboards were, modified the bench seat by the door into part shoe shelf, added remote to bathroom fan which otherwise had to be turned on manually by stepping into the shower (not convenient when you discover you’re making a stink) … I don’t think I’ll be requesting a “mouse entry” however! LOLSpare Tire Watch-OutI discovered that the bolts that secure the spare tire in place are not the same size as the lug nuts on the wheels. Fortunately, I discovered this in my driveway rather than beside the road. My fix was to change the spare tire hold-down bolts so that the size of the nuts match the size of the lug nuts, so the lug nut wrench will work for both. Had I needed to change my tire on the roadside, I would not have been able to get the spare tire off.Re: Cool Mods - Thread restored 10/18/2012We are so close to being done with our cool mods (I think)! We just returned from a one week glamping trip and came home with a few more mods to make. I need the shower head lowered, so DH is going to add a lower bracket. We also want to add an extension cord for a power strip to be located in the corner of the bedroom. None of the outlets are located where we want them, so we have already run 4 power strip extensions. We also want a plug in motion sensor night light in the bathroom. We tried a battery powered one, but we apparently used it too much and the batteries didn't last long enough. We did add motion sensor lighting to the closet and also at the "front" door so we can more easily read the holding tank levels and labels for the different switches. Small adds, but they make a big difference. We've also added six drawers where there were only cupboard doors before. DH used high quality glides, and they are truly wonderful! Too many other upgrades to list here.Re: Cool Mods - Thread restored 10/18/2012cysnake ~ It sounds like you are as crafty as my DH. Nice work!
