You do not need to own a Montana to join the MOC. If you own a Montana then joining the forum is one of the best ways to find out vital information about your rig. It certainly was for me.

To extend the slides with my Montana remote, I need to press two buttons in sequence. So it is unlikely that your remote is the culprit if it works like mine.

Looks like you will have to raise the fifth wheel. Either longer spring shackles or axles under the springs.

Either get a dually or scale back the size of your 5er by a considerable amount. Your truck is way too light for that RV.

I think you are right to go with the 3:73s. Unless you do a lot of highway driving at 50 to 55 mph, in which case the 4:10s might be better. We pull a 15,500 GVW Montana with our CTD dually with the 3:73s. No problem.

We pull our 15,500 GVW Montana with a 3500 DRW. I know some pull with a 2500, but that's not for me. You will be a lot happier with a heavier truck.

Most RVs are made in USA, so generally there is no cost advantage in buying a new RV in Canada. We live in Canada and bought our RV in the States and saved many thousands of $$$.

It may be that one can get 18 wheels and tires that will lift the space shuttle on your 3/4 ton, but most people don't. So many are pulling with their tires overloaded.
