How are they wearing?TiresDoes anyone have the Michelin Agillis CrossClimate LT or the Falken Wildpeak H/T02? I have a 2016 Silverado 2500 with 265/60/R20. My tire guy recommended the Michelin but there aren’t may reviews and what I have found is treadlife isn’t great…..Same with Falkens. I don’t really want an A/T, they all look so aggressive these days in my opinion. I know the LTX M/S is a great tire and may end up with that but was hoping for something slightly more aggressive. I really like the LTX AT2 but it doesn’t come in my sizeRe: TiresThanks all for your comments/advice. The truck is in pristine condition however it does get parked outside in the sun. I should have put that in my original post. There are no visible signs of cracking, etc however both the age and sitting out in the sun are a concernTiresI have a 6 year old, 3/4 ton truck mainly used to pull our travel trailer. It only has 26,000 mile on it and tire tread is fine however age is starting to concern me. I have read it is recommended to replace tires at 6yrs due to age. If I wasn't towing, I probably wouldn't care but being that is what the truck is mainly used for I am thinking its better to be safe than sorry Thoughts? Has anyone changed their tires out due to age on their tow vehicleSWR 5th wheel towingI am really getting close to pulling the trigger on a Chevy 3500 Duramax crew cab short bed. This will be my first diesel and hope I can pull it off. I current have a 2500 gas. We want to upgrade to a fifth wheel in the not so distant future. We are not full timing however we would like to take some longer trips. The truck will mainly be used as an all around vehicle which is why I am leaning toward SRW. I really don’t want a Dually although I’m sure when towing it’s the ultimate. How do your SRW short beds handle the 5th wheel? I would obviously buy a trailer within the specs the truck could handle. See a lot of SRW out there pulling them.Re: SRW for pulling Fifth Wheel valhalla360 wrote: If you are within your ratings, you should be fine. A big question is what year truck? Newer have significantly higher ratings. Also, a 15k trailer is more likely to have a 3000-3500lb pin weight...not the 2500lb you listed. Typical is 20-25%. I don't have the truck yet but it will be a new 2018 or 2019SRW for pulling Fifth WheelI am looking to buy a new truck because we intend to upgrade to a fifth wheel within the next few years. I have read a ton of articles and posts saying that a dually is better and the truck to have. Problem is that I dont really want a dually, we pull maybe 10 times a year for weekends and family vacations, etc. The SRW is a much better daily option for us I am looking at a chevy or gmc 3500 crew cab diesel with the standard bed. I would really love to hear from people with the similar truck pulling fifth wheels....any issues? I would make sure whatever fifth wheel I bought matched the specs of the truck. The one we are thinking of grosses at 15K and a pin weight of 2500# Thanks in advance!Re: Carpet Removal In Bunkhouse subcamper wrote: I removed the carpet in the bunk area on a Rockwood. The vinyl flooring did extend all the way under it. The way they made the finished edge on the carpeting where it met the vinyl was to staple the rug upside-down and then fold it back over. I did have to cut it at the wall edge as the interior wall was on top of the rug. There are tiny staple holes but you won't notice them. Steve Do you have a slide in the bunkhouse? If so, were there any issues? In the living are there is a strip of carpet that runs along the floor against the slide carpet.....see that in all of them. I wasn't sure if having no carpet there would be an issue Thanks for the info!!!Carpet Removal In BunkhouseHas anyone removed the carpet in their bunkhouse? I have a 2016 Jayco Eagle 314BHDS. It appears the flooring from the main area runs all the way back. The carpet got saturated with liquid from rotten watermelon.I have tried all natural methods to get rid of smell and although better, I can still smell it. I need to remove or replace I think
