I do not want to have to put in a panel I just want to tap into the hot wire that goes to battery from outboard to run a depth finder and maybe a charger for phones. Both will be fused does it matter where the wires tap in because the battery will be in front of boat but I plan to splice into power in the back of boat before it reaches battery.Re: Fiber glassing questionOK this is driving me a little nuts! The whole issue is {what will bond aluminum to fiberglass}! The 3m website does not say 5200 will bond aluminum except (maybe) and not as well as wood or other materials, and only if I prime the "metal". It does not say what kind of metal or what to prime it with. Also I can not find out if epoxy and or what kind of epoxy will be strong enough to create a good bond that is why I was looking at fiber glassing a base and using mechanical "bolts" and also 5200 on top of it all for some give due to vibration ext. then bolting it down. I just want the grab rail to become part of the boat and not come off. I am thinking I will first try something and bear with me. Drilling several holes in the base plate so the 5200 can ooze through. Then using like 8 screws to the deck for a mechanical bond. I am about to just get some 8' bolts and go through the whole dang hull! LOLRe: Fiber glassing questionTis is what I plan to do. Fiber glassing questionI have a Carolina Skiff boat that I want to attach a grab bar to the floor. It is about 36' high by 12". I do not want to drill holes into the deck to keep away from water intrusion and I do not think the floor is thick enough to hold. The grab bar has an aluminum base of about 3" by 14". I plan on getting a piece of oak or poplar about that size, putting some bolts through it, making a putty of cab o sil and maybe some mat and gluing the board down with that. Then fiber glassing a few sheets of glass over that. Then I have a nice solid base to bolt to. What I need to know is this a good plan? I looked into just using JB weld or 3m5200 but I do not think it can take the strain. Any ideas? ThanksTitle Question trade inI want to buy a new truck. I have title in hand for the old one to trade in but it has both me and my wife's name on it with an "and" in between (not what I told them to do, I said "or") did not notice until now :(. She is in another state and will not be home for some time. There are good deals to be had and I would like to buy this week. I called and talked to their finance people and they said we both need to be there to sign over title. It seems to me this could be done through faxing or something. Anybody run in to anything like this and how did you get it done. I even said I could mail it to her and have her sign it but they said there was other paperwork she would have to be there for???:?Toyota Tacoma towing capacityI have an F-150 7 lug and she is just about worn out. I would like to buy a new truck but I am having trouble finding the "REAL" towing capacity of them. Also I would like to scale down a little as a full sized extended cab truck with an 8' bed is a pain to park downtown. The dealers are full of **** and most the web sites just tell you about packages, like wheels interior ect. I really like the Tacoma 4 door SR5. So many names have changed over the years but I think it is basically the old High Lux but bigger. I have a boat, 21' and with the trailer it weighs in about 4k pounds. Do any of you know what package eg. engine ect. I would need with a Tacoma to pull my boat. Short trips usually less than 2 miles on flat ground except one bridge. I try to stick to a 60% to 70% towing rule with my towing vehicles as I know that yes you may be able to lug something around but can you stop and control it! I was also looking at the Chevy Colorado.ThanksRe: Windows 10 Movie MakerYah, I had tried the add a temporary picture, then do the audio, and then replace the temporary pic, and THEN add the new video/pictures. Just kind of allot of extra work. I use to have a really old program that came with a camera back in around 2000 that worked really good and let me cut, paste, do audio, video, lengthen, shorten, move clips around ect. no problem. I just thought after almost 20 years things would be easier. Sorta like my pet peeve with DVDs and pay for view. VHS you just started stopped when you wanted. Now when I pause and go to kitchen to get pop corn the d@mn thing has shut off and if I hit a wrong button I have to start at beginning again. :S I will look into some other programs you suggested. Thanks for the info you guys are great.Windows 10 Movie MakerI want to make some videos with Win 10 Movie Maker but I want to do the audio (first) and then add the pictures/video. I can not seem to figure out how to do this without having a pic/vid first then adding audio second. I need to do the audio first because I want to narrate a story first then go back and add pictures and video to fit what I am talking about. ThanksSolar LightsThis topic has been moved to another forum. You can read it here: 27431429Solar LightsI am looking to get some solar(street type)lights to light a boat dock and ramp. The problem is that all the web sites are not accurate and or standard on there measurements of light output. One will say 800 lumens = a 60w incandescent and the next one says that there 800 lumens = a 75w and the next will say theirs = a 150w halogen. :h It is like buying a computer when they all use different terms and fuzzy math instead of one standard. I just want a good light to light my dock. I have read that you are suppose to shop by lumens but if all the "claims" are different do I just hope for the best? The problem is that there are hundreds of dollars in difference in some of the prices. moved to tech issues from technology corner
