It borders the national park and is the closest campground to Cades Cove without actually staying there. I think it’s about 7 miles away. The campground has just undergone an extensive renovation and is top notch!! Try to get a waterfront site. Book soon as they seem to be very popular now.Re: Smoky Mountain National ParkI would not leave the dog outside at Cades Cove at night. We have seen bear and coyote within 100ft of our camper there .. As others have mentioned, there are nice campgrounds in Townsend, which is only about 7 miles from Cades Cove. We prefer Tremont Hills Campground.....nice waterfront sites.Re: fort desoto pinellas county parkX2 on Island Grill. Great food. Very convenient. Daily oyster specials at happy hour.Re: Fort Pickens campground in Pensacola FloridaOur favorite place to eat is Pegleg Pete's on Pensacola Beach. Great seafood! If you need fresh seafood to cook, be sure and check out this place. It's amazing: http://www.joepattis.com/Re: las vegasWe stayed at Oasis Las Vegas Resort several years ago. It is a very nice resort and very convenient to downtown. It has a gated entry with guards on duty 24/7. We loved it. They are Passport America members, so your price with that membership would be half off. Check the restrictions to be sure it's good when you plan to go, but if you are not a member, it would pay for itself in just 2 nights of staying there.Re: The Natchez Trace pulling a trailerWe did the Trace last year pulling a 25ft travel trailer. We stopped at nearly every stop along the way (while pulling the camper). The free campsites along the way are nice. We also stayed at Davis Lake which was very nice. As someone else mentioned, be sure and stop at the Wall along the way (http://www.natcheztracetravel.com/natchez-trace-alabama/florence-tennessee-river/456-wichahpi-stone-wall.html). If you are lucky enough to catch Mr. Hendrix there, he is a real treat!! In his 80s and built the walls with his own hands. We took about a week to travel the trace, spending the last few nights at Natchez MS. It was a very relaxing drive...no stop signs, red lights or billboards for 400 miles.Re: Road to Cherokee, NCWe travel Hwy 411 then thru Elijay and Blue Ridge. We still end up on 64 but that avoids the part with the worst curves (along the Ocoee). We tow a 25ft TT thru there with no problem. There are some curves along the way. I would not want to tow by the Ocoee but have seen others do it.Re: Suggestions for the gulf coast first of Novemberhttps://www.floridastateparks.org/park/St-Joseph This is a beautiful park. There are two loops in the campground. The Gulf Breeze loop is closer to the ocean but both are within walking distance. Its dog friendly within the park, but dogs are not allowed on the beach within the State Park. However, the entire island of Cape San Blas (where the park is located) is pet friendly and dogs are allowed on all beaches there. It's about 30 minutes from Appalachicola which is the Oyster Capital....and also a dog friendly town. The beaches here are beautiful! If you want a commercial tourist feel with lots of attractions close by, this park is not the one.Re: Tremont Outdoor RV - Townsend - Smoky MountainsIt's still a nice campground. The new owner has made some nice improvements since taking over. It is our favorite place to stay in the area. Keep calling, there should be someone there during business hours. I have emailed them in the past and gotten a fairly quick response. Try that if you can't reach them by phone,
