Its not about getting to the top of the mountain first. But where will the gasers be at 200k miles. I had my Allison Transmission serviced, filters replaced, fluid replaced with synthetic fluid. When I picked it up they said see you in 300,000 miles. You don't see that kind of miles out of a gas engine. There is claims of people having 300,000 miles on a V-10 pickup truck and we also have that Toyota truck {gas motor} that got 1 millon miles. Claims? Well its a fact that you will get that kind of mileage from a Diesel, not just claims. Also when you have to add aftermarket upgrades to get more horsepower out of a gas engine that wasn't designed for that you are going to shorten its life expectancy. Both cases you just sited are light duty pickup trucks, not 20,000 lb RV's JMHORe: Gas vs Diesel timmac wrote: The Ford V-10 3 valve with Banks Power Pack and 5 Star Tuning can get up to 425 hp and 540 lbs of torque at the crank shaft, on a motorhome that weights under 20,000 lbs it moves right along and can keep up with the diesels in the mountains..
