WaltIs a visit to Whittier with RV a good use of time?We are planning our trip to Alaska this year and have Valdez, Homer, Seward, Kenai all dialed in. We would like to know if stopping in Portage to see the Whittier Glacier is a good use of time? Or, should we visit Whittier via boat from Valdez?Roberts Resort in El Mirage or SurpriseWould appreciate some feedback on either resort. Friendly to rvers? Seem like mostly manufactured homes? Noise from Luke Air Base a problem? ThanksRe: Small Pickups Coming Back? What full size pickup will fit in your garage? That's why we bought our 12 Colorado 4X4 crew cab. Fits 4 comfortably and tows great. We saw the 15 Colorado at the SF auto show in Nov. and it looks good. The dash is the smaller version of the Silverado and they extended the bed. No more V8 but the other options will be adequate. There is definitely a market for a mid size truck. Buy AmericanRe: Health insurance ??!!??We retired early at 60 years old. For the two of us, we have been paying $1600 per month. The Blue Shield plan is a great plan, but you pay for it. We knew we would be paying a lot for insurance until Medicare, but the early retirement has been worth it. We could have signed up for a cheaper plan but less coverage and high copays. We get to go on Medicare soon and we will be paying $109 per month each for a "F" rated supplemental plan (best one offered). Go see an insurance broker, it doesn't cost a thing.Wintering in the Donna Texas AreaWe are considering spending some time this winter in south Texas. We have heard that Donna Texas is nice. Can anyone give me advice on this area? What area is good? Weather in Feb/March and names of good RV campgrounds? Appreciate the helpRe: Coated or Uncoated Aluminum WheelsHey, those polished wheels look just like mine, I usually do mine by hand but occasionally use the Mothers balls.Re: Weber Q220 gas grillThere is no second choice, Weber hands down. Why don't you ask Santa for one? That way you're off the hook. We have the 120. Happy Holidays, Dumptrucker
