Excellent service. https://www.masseysdiesel.com/Re: Looking for winter locationIf you want to avoid high humidity Arizona would be your best bet.Re: Arizona weather very different than last year! RVUSA wrote: Hows the wind this year? Since we arrived in Phoenix just after Christmas, no high winds at all. The forecast for the next week is highs in the 70's, lows in the 40's. Love it!Re: Water Softener Yes/NoGo here for information on portable water softeners. On The Go Water Softener It's the website for On the Go, but has good information and most, if not all of it applies to the Flo-Pur softener as well. Camping world has them both on sale right now. They are both 8000 grain units, so they have the same capacity. The On The Go double model is attractive if you winter in Arizona due to really hard water there. You can use potassium chloride instead of table salt if you're watching your salt intake. But, for the portable units you have to crush the pellets into something resembling table salt yourself to make it work.Re: Health Insurance Tequila wrote: what is INR? INR is a blood test for people who are on blood thinners. It's a test to determine the bloods clotting ability, and whether one is taking the proper dose of medicine (Warfarin, Coumadin, and others) to help prevent clots. There may be other uses that I'm not aware of.Re: Health InsuranceI get INR tested once a month. In the winter we are in Phoenix, and I get tested at John C Lincoln Hospital on the north side of town. Medicare pays the entire cost, but I think the charge for a walk-in patient without insurance would be somewhere around $60 to $75. Plus, you usually need some form of Dr. note or a prescription to get it done. I would call ahead to a hospital in the area you are going to check on price and whether you need a note or prescription.Re: freezing temps & slides & tailgaterThe only problem I had a couple of years ago was the motorhome was on the driveway for a few days when we were getting ready to go to Phoenix for the winter. The slides were out and we had some light snow. Not a problem except apparently some of the snow melted off the roof and the water wound up on the slide toppers and refroze. The slide toppers didn't want to retract properly with the ice built up on them. I Had to get up on the roof and clear them off with a broom.Re: Cost to change out fridge.I just had a Samsung RF 197 installed last month at Precision Painting in Bremen, Indiana. Total cost was $570 for the install. My install was pretty straightforward, fridge came in thru the front door, and I already had the inverter and batteries. Have you called Orangewood on 114th and Bell?Re: So who's in the class of 2013/14?This will be our 7th season in Phoenix. We usually leave around Dec. 10. for 4 months. I thought long and hard about buying in Phoenix a couple of years ago when real estate prices were really low and becoming a reverse snowbird (sunbird?). However, DW still likes the change of seasons here, and won't hear of it.Re: How Many Dollars to Go ResidentialI replaced my Norcold 1200 with a Samsung RF197 last month. I had the work done by Precision Painting in Bremen Indiana, and they were able to do it without removing a window. Total cost was right at $1800 for the whole thing. I already had a inverter/charger and 4 golf cart batteries, so no additional costs there. Best move I ever made.
