This is how i take a small 12ft aluminum boat with me camping while towing an RV trailer. Still have your truck bed for any gear you may want. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2abnBHg4_2U&t=2sRe: 6.2 Ford gasser reviews? Thanks for the input on fuel mileage and all the reviews here. I am pretty much sold on the 6.2 with 3.73 gears. My 05 6.0 diesel has been an excellent truck and I guess I either got lucky or I am educated enough about the engine and maintenance that it's been solid. Problem is in my climate these vehicles rust bad after 13-15yrs and I am thinking of getting rid of it before it's too late. Mileage on my 6.0 is 16mpg with my 80% highway daily usage and 11mpg towing my 8000lb trailer. Seems the 6.2 is around the same or slightly worse.Re: 6.2 Ford gasser reviews? What sort of fuel mileage are you all seeing unloaded/loaded? Also state of it's mainly highway or city thx.Re: Dual Batteries with shut offCheck out my how to video on this exact same thing, 2 6v batts. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ul4w7XEy4k8&t=4sRe: Small Four Season TTI really like the wood framing in my Nash 25c. I had an Arctic Fox camper that was aluminum framed and even though it was well insulated it showed moisture on the inside walls where the frame was. This was the only place you could see moisture, weird phenomenon that does not happen in my wooden framed trailer i now have. Im guessing it was transferring the cold from the outside through the aluminum into the inside wall. You could see a grid pattern if u looked closely in the right light, or u could feel the moisture with your hand. The Nash models have heated enclosed tanks and valves, thermal windows, and a good R value. I have camped for 1 week using furnace nightly boondocking and my 2 6volt batteries will go down to about 70% in one night with some tv use, and the furnace set at 21deg Celsius. I would say it cycles on about once every 45min and runs for about 10min at about -3 Celsius. Nothing has ever frozen on me. No valves etc. The weakest link on these trailers is the outside shower, they are suseptable to freezing and i would recommend leaving them winterized with antifreeze. (dont flush them out when u dewinterize when winter camping). I am very pleased with the winter performance of the trailer, and in summer the sun doesnt make the trailer an oven. Holds the same temp as the outside air temp. My best friend has a ORV Creekside 23BHS and it also performs well in sub zero temps and he is also happy with his choice. Nash 17k is a nice little trailer with no slide and large rear window.Re: Weight Distribution Setup Question Whangler wrote: I'd have to get a taller shank to make the trailer sit level when hitched. Propane usage is more expensive then the electricity used. If u find yourself running out of hot water, or you insist on having back to back showers, then having both on simultaneously will heat the water faster.Re: Down sides to being a TT Camper?Coming from a truck camper I would say a TT has some big disadvantages but also some advantages! Pros - Interior space and storage Ease of hitching and unhitching (<5min) easier freedom to use vehicle Use of truck box for stuff, firewood etc. Cons - (vs a truck camper in my case) Overall length makes some wilderness campsites simply inaccessible Lost ability to tow a boat / quad/dirt bike trailer. Though there are ways around this. Ease of travelling isn’t in same league as a TC Long term durability ripping down gravel roads unknown. No ability to stealth camp. With our family of 4 the space and storage advantage outweighs all the cons but once our boys are old enough that they wish to tent it or stay home we will once again upgrade to a truck camper.Re: running two chargersI feel like it would be much less of a hassle to just upgrade your converter/charger to a 75amp/100amp model. No Mickey mousing clamping or disconnecting batts. Just my 2c.
