I want to update my last post. My friend has arrived and he told me the company he hired drove his rig and toad across border to him in Bellingham Washington. My Canadian friend just shipped his RV I across border. He flew from Abetsford to Bellingham retrieved his RV and is headed to visit us, on his way to Florida for winter. Since the pandemic we will miss our second winter south of the border since 2003. No more RVing though we will be renting a house instead. I’ve been saying this has been happening inMexico for years! Now people on this forum seem to have changed their opinion on Mexico travel. Don’t get me wrong I love Mexico and can’t wait to go back, but this kind of trouble has been going on for years. The biggest problem was that it was never broadcast over the media. Only when a tourist is involved did the news spread, but the crime on paisanos was seldom reported. So it didn’t seem so bad. Call me unlucky but I have been close to shootings, killings and amongst cartel members, so many instances , can’t remember them all. I should say call me lucky because we never got more than a few scares. Looking at purchasing a 2007 Horizon with home type AC. Wondering the pros and cons. I know they blow air out the bottom of the coach, but are there any technical issues, like durability, maintenance, power to cool a 40 foot coach, does it interfere with access to engine?
