My last two TT’s: automatic roof vents with remote controls. After 3 yrs in the current TT two vents are belly-up. I’m not handy so I hired a local traveling RV repairman who came out, took them apart, and found two dead motors that need to be replaced…parts and labor well over $200. I guess that’s progress.Re: Washington Hwy. 129 - Oregon Hwy 3I stand by what I posted on this topic on January 26, 2017. Even with my truck’s comprehension brakes engaged I wouldn’t want to tow this his route between Asotin,WA & Joseph, OR. To each his own.Forks, WALooking for a 1 night CG in or near Forks. TT, wife and I will be traveling from Sequim to Ocean Shores going counter-clockwise around the Peninsula, and I want to do it in 2 days. At my age I do not want to tow the Everett to Olympia I-5/405 quagmire ever again.Re: Western WA storage?Mt. Vernon Storage. Very good Managers, secure facility. 360-848-7867Re: Route to avoid traffic from Oregon City OR to Mill Creek WANo such animal in the Puget Sound region anymore…I’m sorry too.Re: Need new tiresThanks much for the serious answers, especially from south of here in BlackDiamond. I appreciate it. I’m just looking for a “square” deal.Need new tiresI need new tires for my 3/4 ton Silverado (see my signature). Looking for recommendations for both towing and for general use. LT 245 75/R17E. I am usually towing approx. 7000-9000 lbs. With diesel fuel approaching $6/gallon in my area I won’t be towing too far from from home anytime soon. Because of that I am not willing to pay top $$$ for the best tires anymore. My goal now is to be safe and to not get stranded somewhere. Your helpful thoughts are appreciated.MaxxFan 7500KWhen I bought our brand new Outdoors RV 24RLS three years ago, I remember wondering why we would need automated remote control roof vents + fans, but I figured it’s a cool feature that won’t cause problems. Boy was I wrong. Just returned home from our first 2022 “shakedown” trip this past week. All is shipshape, EXCEPT for the MaxxAir 7500K roof vents + roof fans. The remotes all have new batteries, and none of the remotes work. I am not able to raise the vents…nothing works. During our five nights out we listened to each vent “chirp” at us every few minutes throughout each day and night, and every so often green lights in the ceiling assembly would light up brightly and then go out. I have re-read my manual, researched online, and now I am writing this missive, hopefully to get good advice here. My next step will likely be to contact the RV Dealer where we purchased it for possible (expensive?) service. Right now I believe I would just like to have these space age roof vents removed and replaced with the good old fashioned, uncomplicated manual vents and fans that always worked for us in the past.Re: Should I re-winterize?Winterize. Only takes 10 minutes and you’ll sleep better tonight.Re: Canada sizzling! The prediction for tomorrow (Monday) is 110F in Seattle. That’s an all-time record. Most folks in W. Washington have no air conditioning. Until now it was never needed.
