Re: 1984 Suncrest 26'At this time not really willing to do that much work:) This is currently just a Tailgating rig so if the info was there great. Being we only paid $2k split between 4 guys it's just pocket change. Been fun so far! GO HAWKS!Re: 1984 Suncrest 26'Thank you all for your tips I will crawl underneath to determine my tank sizes.1984 Suncrest 26'So as I have posted before I picked up this beauty but still need more information on this unit. Please dont tell me to google it because I have tried and no success. The Motorhome came with the manuals but there is no information on size of the various tanks on this unit. Is there a way to figure it out? Are the tanks marked somewhere? Mainly want to know the size of the fuel tanks yes it has two a Main and a Aux. The fuel gauge doesn't work so I can't tell when I'm getting low. I'm thinking the main tank is about 40 gallons and aux might be 25-30 gallons. I assume when using the generator it uses the same fuel that the engine uses. I do know that the generator does shut off when it gets to the 1/4 tank left as we found out on the maiden voyage. We want to just switch the fuel to Aux when using the generator and just use the main for the Engine. This might be common knowledge but the Engine is a 454 and it's on a P 30 chassis. Thanks ToddRe: New RV for the boysWell it's maiden voyage was the past two days. Buddies and I went to our tailgating spot Wednesday evening to stake out our spot for Thursday. Everything thing seem to work like expected. Everyone was shocked on the condition of this beauty so it was fun. The generator did stop running after 10hrs of use so I hope it's just a fuel issue. My gas gauge doesn't work so i couldnt tell on my fuel level when it died on me. But the motorhome was able to start and make it back to where it's stored at. So I just hope the generator got down to the automatic shut off area so there was enough fuel for the motor until I were to get more fuel. The RV does have a main and aux tank but I'm pretty sure I have to switch the lever to have it use the other tank someone was saying maybe the generator uses aux tank automatically but I don't think that is the case. The generator wanted to run but once started it would stop after a second or so. How many gallons of gas will the Kohler 4.5 generator burn per hour? I know this of course depends on what is being used but yesterday we just were using some lights, and the exterior plugs for satellite and tv, and very little A/C. Is there a way you can insulate the generator area so it's noise doesn't interfere with the TV? We could here the TV but it was turned all the way up so we were thinking of ways that we could buffer the sound of the generator. Thanks'Gas Gauge cluster not workinSo I just picked up a 1984 Suncrest and trying to fix a gauge problem. So my gas, h2o, oil, and voltage gauge doesn't work. Keeps blowing fuses so it sounds like a short somewhere but can any of you pros tell me where I should start in fixing this problem. And if this should be posted elsewhere please move it. Thank you.Re: New RV for the boysSo I went to DOL to transfer the registration and title and they couldn't even figure out the what the RV was worth. It didn't really matter because we wrote up a bill of sale for $500 so I was only paying tax on the $500 not fair market value. When you look up Suncrest the first year that they have listed in NADA is 1985 and mine is a 1984. I told them it was made my R&R Custom Coachworks but still couldn't find anything under that name. I gave my Insurance company the vin# and they told me exactly what I knew and the replacement value is $4900.Re: New RV for the boysTires are new. The front suspension feels very good when driving it but will keep my eye open on that. Hot Water not working due to improper winterization so something got cracked haven't even dug into it. The furnance works but somethings not right he didnt really go into any details. I wasn't going to let that stop me from buying this. Plug in some space heaters if needed. scdiver wrote: Congrats on your RV. I know you will have a lot of fun with it. That being said, Two things you need to really look at to save future problems. First and most important, are the tires over 7 years old? If they are they must be replaced. A blow out can cause a lot of damage. The second thing is check the air bags in the front springs. If you find the front suspension bottoming out you could cause damage there. The p30 chassis does not have strong front springs and needs air bags to help the springs. Do a Google on p30 front air bags and you will find a lot of threads on several forums about this. I put new air bags on the front of my 96 Aerbus and really improved it's handling. Also on my couch I needed new main boards on my furnace and reefer to get them working. Not hard to fix but follow the diagnostics when trouble shooting as there could be other problems not the least could be mud dobber nests affecting the water heater and furnace. Good Luck
