Re: Thor put the sink in wrong, perhaps?
I took out the sink, removed the leftover silicone and mounted t from the top. I sealed under the flange with clear silicone. I had to add 1” to the drain pipe but that was easy. Looks so much better and we won’t have the particle board swelling issue. We don’t have the drop-in cover but we have a large wood cutting board that can cover the whole area. The better fix would have been to replace the counter top with a solid material but we may not keep this rig all that longRe: Sink needs sealing
Okay. Here it is two years later. The countertop is continuing to swell. The thin skin is even coming away around the sink. I want to replace the sink with a top Mount sink. Looking on Amazon, I found the very sink I have and it looks like it was meant to be a top Mount and Thor put it underneath the countertop. I wonder, do any of you have a Thor with a top-mount sink? Maybe the installer just put it in wrong!Re: Refrigerator quit working
Thanks to all. Problem solved. The propane valve solenoid had quit working. I knew that when I put an ohm meter across it’s leads and the meter read infinite resistance. I had to order a whole assembly that includes the solenoid and the valve and the burner. I found one at Michigan RV Outfitters for $175.50 including shipping to Virginia. It was not hard to replace and she fired right up when I turned the fridge to “gas”.Dometic fridge exterior door latches.
I recently had to replace the propane valve on our Dometic fridge. All went well but I mangled the latches getting the exterior door off. I thought, since they had a slot in their heads, that I needed to rotate them 90 degrees to open the door. They both broke when I did that. Now, the door is being held shut with duct tape. Today I received the new Dometic propane valve from Michigan RV Outfitters. $175 including shipping. Turned off the propane at the tank. Also tuned off the fridge which has been running on electricity. Then I took out the old valve and put in the new one. Turned the fridge back on and set it to “gas”. Fired right up! I went to Dometic.com and viewed the service manual. It said that the solenoid for the gas valve should have 44 ohms resistance. I checked it and got infinite resistance. So it’s shot. I went on Amazon and eBay and found several valves for sale which include the solenoid. I wasn’t absolutely sure which was the correct one for my fridge so I called one of the vendors, Michigan RV Outfitters, and spoke to a salesperson and ordered the valve assembly. $175. We’ll see if it solves the problem. Stay tuned.
