On Valentine's Day. Guess God needed another little dogger. She'd been a terrible abuse case, brutalized so badly that it took her one whole year to wag her little stump of a tail the first time. And though she was never a very outgoing little girl, she finally seemed to learn that people weren't going to hurt her anymore and she came to trust us to a degree. She was a delight to walk in campgrounds across the country because she brought a smile to everyone's face. It was a rare day that at least one person didn't stop to ask what kind of dog she was (or to simply remark, "Those ears!"). We never really knew her breed, so made up the "Amazing Australian Koala Dog" name, because she looked a bit like a little koala bear. It's amazing that such a little dog can leave such a big hole in your life. CathyRe: Pet Food RecallAgree with JTMO -- if it's from China, don't eat it, OR buy it. Remember, China is the country that decided to handle its rabies problem by killing their dogs instead of vaccinating them, and by limiting people to one pet per household. And their method of killing the animals was to beat them to death, sometimes in full view of the owners. Does anyone think China is losing any sleep over the deaths of beloved animals in our country? CathyRe: Pet Food RecallI just posted my dog food recipe under a different thread titled "Home-made Holistic Dog Food Recipe." Been using it for years, and it's worked great. And, Auntie, we'll be thinking about you and your Sheltie, and sending prayers and good wishes your way. CathyRe: Pet Pictures - READ MY STARTING POST B/4 POSTINGLisa M, Great slide show! But I gotta say I was pretty creeped out by all the photos of the guys holding sticks as though they were going to beat the dog. Was the dog actually beaten with those sticks?
