I was planning on putting on FS airbags, but local RV specialist said that they used to put on a lot of air bags but had many come back with leaks, so now they suggest Timbrens. I plan on driving from WA state to Anchorage, AK via the Alaska highway, so wondered what folks would suggest?? Thanks for your replies! GeraldRe: Best way to store a truck camperThanks everyone for taking the time to weigh in on my Truck Camper storage question! I think I will call or email Northwoods to see if they have any specific suggestions for support and where on the TC is the best placement. Deltabravo, which three points on the TC do you suggest for placing the supports? GeraldBest way to store a truck camperI recently purchased a used 2011 Wolf Creek truck camper, but won't be using it much until this summer. I am new to the RV world, so not sure how I should store it when it's not on my 2006 Ram 3500 short box megacab. I only have 12' on the side of my house with a slight incline that leans toward my neighbor's house to work with or in my neighborhood many people park their boats and RV's in the driveway. I am thinking of just parking it on half of my 2 car driveway, which has a slight downhill slope to it. The guy I bought the TC from indicated that he thought it was a good idea to put the trailer on heavy duty saw horses to protect the electric jacks. It came with a nice breathable cover that is supposed to be good in this Pacific Northwest climate, so I was planning on putting that on it. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. GeraldPulling a boat with truck camperI just bought a 2006 Dodge Ram 3500 diesel megacab. My wife & I were thinking we wanted to buy a nice camper trailer and that's why we got a big diesel truck. However, I also just bought a 17' smoker craft fishing boat and created an unanticipated dilemma. I thought I would just use the boat for local fishing trips and that we would still want a big comfortable camper for longer sightseeing and vacation trips. Now my wife is thinking she may want to get a truck camper, so we can camp and fish some of the reservoirs in the region. I have owned a small 16' camper trailer, she doesn't have any RVing experience, so we are still rookies. 1) can a person get a truck camper or camping trailer that can safely pull a boat that's approximately 2,000 lbs. 2) should we invest in a nice truck camper when we might not like the cramped quarters compared to a bigger camper trailer? Any advice whatsoever would be greatly appreciated! Rearing to Go :)
