Others may have a better idea. As for me I had to change the valve because a dish rag was caught in the valve...don't ask.Re: Replacing black water cable valveI can see one advantage to the twist on waste valve is having the ability to fill the waste line up with water, even water with a chemical to help dissolve any debris around the valve. And to change a cable valve in the underbelly, aggregation does not begin to describe the process.Re: Replacing black water cable valveI changed one on a previous trailer and I want to say it was a bear. On this trailer I had to cut an opening under the valve location. Getting the exact location was not easy. Removing the old valve was relatively painless but getting the pipes spread apart to install the new valve to get the seals to set right was extremely difficult. I had to redo the install three times before it didn't leak (i just filled the tank with water to test). I actually used the old bolts and nuts to spread the pipes far enough to slip it in place. I sewed the opening shut with wire ties. Hopefully, your install won't be as involved.Re: More ash borer newsWe've lost several ash trees in our lot due to the EAB. One even blew on our roof in a November storm. It was due to be downed the following week. Although Indiana requires all firewood to have bark removed, we are no longer even asked if we have firewood when entering a State Park. The infestation crept closer every year through Michigan into Northern Indiana into my trees. It's going to happen. People are going to carry untreated wood into uninfected areas. It's going to happen naturally also.Re: Tornado SafetyTornadoes by state Interesting slideshowRe: Tornado SafetyLots of good advice here. Flying debris is the most dangerous part of a tornado unless you enjoy flying around in your RV or tow vehicle. Walls collapsing on you is not fun either. After seeing a 2 x 4 embedded in a tree did I fully understand the power behind one of these things. I have also seen wire fences twisted into cable and whole sections of a forest torn into toothpicks. We take watches and warnings seriously. We have learned how to read the book on a radar. And we have learned to respect the potential of a microburst after having 120mph winds destroy our town a year after we had the pleasure of a tornado. Yes the chances are slim but are real and the damage caused by a tornado is severe enough to warrant respect. Indiana is not named Hoosier tornado alley for no reason.Re: Roof vents in the windDid anybody recommend vent covers?Re: New Chevy Truck with wifi compared to truck towing RV!!We are limited to ATT. I had Verizon for my work cell before retiring and I had no service at my house, convenient at times. We bought a new Silverado this past spring with the WiFi. Without smartphones, it came in handy. We decided to step into the 21st century and get smartphones. We no longer see the need for the truck wifi.Re: For those concerned about driving through Atlanta - a primer1. Will Boston over Atlanta any day. Will take Atlanta over Chicago. 2. Ran over a mattress on I75 once in Atlanta. 3. Every road, street, avenue, boulevard is named Peachtree.Re: Anti freeze preferenceI will see if there is a taste problem next spring. However, the one brand had a strong odor. At least I may know what brand not to buy.
