A poster is down there right now, and hoping he hits us up with all that is happening on the Outer Banks!Re: gettysburg battlefield resorthttps://drummerboycampresort.com/ This is a nice place. We have stayed here a few times. Right off route 15. Gettysburg Campground that was linked is nice also. We have stayed there a few times also. DrummerBoy and Gettysburg campground are the best. Not Gettysburg campground "Resort". There are 7 campgrounds in the area.Re: Will Spring EVER get here!" used 5' concrete rewire for hanging support and the plants grew together, forming the tunnel. It was awesome to reach up to harvest a Big Girl or a Big Boy in the tunnel." Quoted from Westend Sounds cool. My tomato of choice is BIG Beef. (Hybrid 1994 All American Winner) I would think it would do good up there for you. 70 day. Glad to hear from another gardener. I need a tutorial on Quoting.Re: new and lots of questionsWell, what do you want? What is your idea of a great experience with this house on wheels? We can't give decisive answers with such limited ideals and vague Walmart parking.Re: Will Spring EVER get here! westend wrote: Anyone planting a vegetable garden this year anywhere? I'm planning on it but, when, is the operative word. We still have a foot of snow on the ground but it is melting fast. The Sun is very strong, even in April. My record early planting date was April 4 for a double row of tomatoes. I started the plants from seed and they were inside hoops for the first few weeks. Hoop gardening can sure extend your seasons but a guy has to be careful that daily temps don't get too high without allowing ventilation. I've burned up a few plants by not reacting fast enough. FWIW, I got my tomato harvest about a week before everyone else, not hardly worth the effort. One year, though, with adjoining beds of indeterminite hybrid tomatoes, I was able to get the "tunnel-o-tomatoes". I used 5' concrete rewire for hanging support and the plants grew together, forming the tunnel. It was awesome to reach up to harvest a Big Girl or a Big Boy in the tunnel. Re: new and lots of questionsGoodness....... Your post makes it sound like you want to camp in plain site and do evil deeds, and not be suspected of doing them, when a crime has been committed and they view the camera footage on the street you happen to be hiding on in plain site. So................ What is YOUR IDEA of how all this should work?Harper's Ferry WVWho hangs out here? Who knows the best food stops, bars, etc........ How about the ghost tours? Chat.....................Re: Will Spring EVER get here! Here in Maryland........... Over the weekend the weather was nice and dry and I planted my spring garden: Onions, Potatoes, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Cabbage, parsley and celery. Then Sunday: Wind And rain and the temps dropped back to miserable weather. The weather YO YO lives on! Anyone planting a vegetable garden this year anywhere?Re: Outer BanksThis topic is of interest to me. We are staying at Camp Hatteras July 4th week. http://www.camphatteras.com/ I've been researching a few places to get fresh seafood and things like that. http://www.rvforum.net/SMF_forum/index.php/topic,111977.0.html We are going there from Maryland. How far are you from the outerbanks? Are you taking a family or just yourselves? It is Just Hubby and I.Re: Passport Elite 23RB or Cougar 22RBS exintrunk wrote: ziplock wrote: We are Marylanders too. Where are you planning to buy your camper? A Maryland dealer close to you? We spent the day a Leo's and at Chesaco RV. Also some time at Camping world in Hanover. none of the dealers were particularly good or bad. We are up in Harford county so we can go anywhere. Being local, where did you buy? 5 years sounds like a long time till retirement when you hear all the folks on here and their long trips! I'm terrible at quoting to notify. Sorry. We bought ours at Leo's last year. They are about 50 minutes south of us. We bought a 2018 class C thor Chateau. It is just the 2 of us too. And like you guys, we are weekend campers for about 5 more years too. Hubby and I are waving at you guys. Welcome to the camping world.
