I have a 2015 Ram 3500 Longhorn with the OEM IBC I have edited the OPCrazy issue with Brake Controller/system - Need AdviceLast year at this time I had an incident on a local road at 40ish miles per hour with a quick hard braking …… and my trailer brakes locking up and ruining my 1 year old tires (flat spots). I took the trailer to a trailer mechanic and they adjusted my brakes on my 1 year old 2017 310GK. They said my brakes were terribly out-of-adjustment. I also bought some new very expensive G614’s …. Set my gain on 4.5 and all my problems were resolved….no breaking problems for a year. Until yesterday when I was taking my trailer back to storage. All of a sudden …..I was traveling about 30-35 mph and had another rather quick kinda hard braking incident (a DA in a beat-up pick up truck pulled out in front of me) ….. and I hit the breaks and had a short tire skid and a brief smell of burnt rubber. I examined the tires as best as I could and did not detect any damage or flat spots. I did not lift the trailer to examine. Once in the storage parking lot I triggered the manual lever on my break controller and there was an instant slam of the breaks ….. like my controller was set to 10. I lowered my controller to 1 for the time being. I have a 2015 Ram 3500 Longhorn with the OEM IBC and a 2017 Grand Design Solitude 310GK What is going on guys?Re: Slide ToppersI have had them on 3 5ers and wouldn’t be without them. We were just in a brutal storm in Galveston …. And they did make a lot of noise, but the trailer was rocking and the other noise from the storm was just as bothersome. My point – in normal wind they do not bother me, in terrible storms I do hear them flapping, but I also hear all the other noise from the storm. And I firmly believe they keep the slide room cooler in the hot Texas heat and they cetainly keep off the elements of weather, bird poop, dust etc.Re: Grand Design topjimmy wrote: On the Montana owners site I have Never seen anybody complain about THAT issue in 6 years on the forum and Montana outsells GD by a wide margin so I do not get why GD is having so many problems with it because we pretty much all use the same axles and frames etc.. I believe the difference is the broad open-forum concept. I have been in the RV ownership world for 17 years and have NEVER seen a more “open-on-all-issues” approach. The owners of GD products have their own forum as well as their own Facebook groups. And both of these media’s are monitored by very active GD employees who support this approach and consistently assist the owners with their issues and problems.Re: Outstanding service at Crestview RV, Buda TX darsben wrote: While we are at it how about posting a factual review at RVSERVICEREVIEWS.COM Done!!Outstanding service at Crestview RV, Buda TXI just had my first Service event at my dealer this past week, and with all the negativity with so many dealerships across the country …… I wanted to say that Crestview RV in Buda Texas did an outstanding job, getting me in and addressing each issue in a very timely manner. And all repairs were done to my complete satisfaction. A special thank you to Cedric and his entire staff. you guys were awesome. Job well done.Re: Grand Design Reflection 5th wheelsI must admit I am totally confused about this lack of a rear cap as well. The GD products have a nice clean seamless rear end and as far as I’m concerned they look as good as any 5er that I have seen. I just don’t get it. I am so impressed with Grand Design, I recently ordered a 2016 Solitude and should receive in MarchRe: Water damage issuesI would never consider a water damaged RV. Too many variables for damage you cannot see. Walk Away !!!!Re: 6 Point Leveling laknox wrote: nremtp143 wrote: Well, after the OP got on the phone with Lippert, the part was overnighted and installed. The system was calibrated and was ready for pickup, however, a tractor trailer delivering to the dealer hit the nose cap of the trailer.:M Camper was sent to body shop and was supposed to be returned today. This weekend may be a possibility yet!! Methinks I'd find another dealer... Lyle AGREE!!Re: pressure wash the roofI’m in my 11th year on my current 5er and I have washed and conditioned it 2X a year every year. I also inspect it every time I wash. No problems, no leaks, and other than stains it is still in excellent shape. And as far as washing the roof on my house …. Well, it’s not covered with rubber …… And I also agree, no pressure washers anywhere near my RV. That being said, I love the Flex Armor, and would love to add it ……. but just too expensive for me.
