And the work in the rain! Check the food forums. Don't be afraid to alter recipes. We make up our own all the time.Re: Jayco White or Jayco EagleWe looked at the White Hawk last year, really liked it, but for floor plan and pricing reasons (among others), we got the Eagle. Absolutely love it.Re: electric awningHaven't had any issues with wind with our electric awning. We do like the ease of operation and auto-dump, but I think we would still prefer the manual simply to choose the pitch and angle of awning that suits our needs. Our trailer is so tall that with the awning out, any slight angle to the rain gets everything underneath wet. Kind of defeats the purpose.Re: My $32,000 ink pen - photoShe's a beauty. I know it's not polite, but mind if I ask how much she weighs?Re: Trailer Is WinterizedThe heat makes it less than ideal right now, but once it really cools down at the end of next month, we'll camp through Christmas. Doesn't really get cold here until January.Re: How close is your "local" dealership?I shop locally though there are only two or three near me. They take advantage of that and don't "deal" to our liking. Our latest model was purchased five hours away, but saved almost $9K! Definitely worth the drive. Luckily one of the local dealerships does have a good and trustworthy repair dept, though we haven't really had to go in for other than minor stuff. It's definitely worth it to shop around, imo.Re: Thinking of getting into the TT marketHybrids are great. We've owned two and thoroughly enjoyed them both. Great for families and you'll love the extra floor space. For what it's worth, both of our hybrids were Jayco and we never had any problems. Very versatile.Re: camper radio alarm??Mine has an alarm also that does not emit from speakers, but radio itself. Found that out by accident one morning at about 3 am. Turned it off by beating every button in the dark until it shut up. Turns out one if us had inadvertently turned alarm on that was set to a factory pre-set time. On/off feature was not obvious. Check radio owners manual maybe?Re: prepping for 1300 mi tripWe did a cross country trip a few years ago. One of the things that saved some sanity was to pre-prepare some good home cooked meals and freeze them. Fast food and sandwiches get boring and when driving long days, the time or will to cook might not be there. :) just a thought....Re: Rear kitchensI am really surprised by those who have had problems with their rear kitchens. I wonder if it has to do with the way the TT is loaded and one's set-up. Our current Jayco Eagle with RK has had no issues with bounce at all. Speed bumps don't create a problem, drawers don't fly open, nothing bounces from the sink, etc, etc. To date, everything has been in the expect spot on arrival as it was on departure. Makes me wonder why some folks have such severe issues. Hmmm.
