I am replacing it because it had a leak in the tank.98 Hitchiker II Water Heater WiringBought our Hitchiker II 5th wheel and need to replace the water heater. It is a combination gas/electric unit. No problem with that except, I don't understand the electrical. Specifically this...there is a remote rocker switch and indicator light that has DC running thru it. Is that for the gas igniter? How does it work.....when does the light come on? Also, there is a wall switch above the counter that has a pilot light next to it. What does that do? Is it the on/off switch for the electric portion? Any explanation helps. Thanks.1998 Hitchiker II ValvesI have a 1998 Hitchiker II that has 3 "dump" valves. None of them are labeled. I would like to know which one is which. I know the black water valve is the 3rd one from the front. What about the other 2?Re: Water Heater Won't Work donn0128 wrote: Gas? Turn on the full gas bottles light the stove top burners then try the other things. It could have a manual standing pilot or electronic ignition on the water heater. You have to check it out first. It has electronic ignition. Furnace worked just fine so propane is present.Water Heater Won't WorkI just bought a used 5th wheel. 1997 Hitchiker II. Good shape but I cannot get the hot water heater to do anything. No indication of propane or any indication it's even trying to light. The heater is an Atwood GC6AA-9E. How do I troubleshoot this unit? Any tips?Re: Water Damage. Trying to FInd Source. What To Do? opnspaces wrote: Is there a marker light in the top corner that might be leaking? I will look. Will it be obvious or do I need to remove to determine?Water Damage. Trying to FInd Source. What To Do?i have water that is getting in the walls of my 5th wheel. Only on one side of the trailer It is a 1998 Hitchhiker II. I bought the camper last year. I notice water had entered the interior on the wall on one side. I got on the roof, checked all rooftop components and sealed all cracks with Dicor. I also noticed the edges of the rubber roof were cracked. I used dicor to seal those roof edge cracks. Still having a problem. The rubber roof lays over the edge and @ 1/2" or so below that edge is a trim strip. Directly below that trim is the extrusion for the awning. Not sure whare the water is entering. Should I remove the trim, apply eternabond and reapply the trim? What to do?Re: GFCI Won't ResetI found the problem. It was a junction box on the slide that was half full of water. Thanks for the advice.Re: GFCI Won't Reset westend wrote: A GFCI device will not reset with no power present. If you are sure the GFCI receptacle, by itself with no downstream wiring connected, won't reset with power to it, you have either a faulty GFCI device or you have a ground fault. What is the AC power source? Are you at home or at a campground? Are you using an extension cord? I am connected at home via extension cord. Have been just fine the all of a sudden this gfci issue.
