FWIW.Re: 7.3 Ford gas engineHave about 3k miles on mine now, towed the 5th once. Good power, likes to rev higher than my 6.7 did. Looks like about 8 towing, 16 highway and 12-13 mixed. Does it pull like the '13 PSD? No - but it does the job just fine at lower cost. Long term can't say much. The one place I find myself wanting more right now is engine braking - but I'll adjust to this beast.Re: Fridge IssuesThe boiler is part of the cooling loop – it is really one unit. If the flame is heating the boiler but your not getting cooling there is a fair chance the cooling unit is in need of replacement. They are not repairable. I suggest doing some research on cooling unit replacement if you want to consider doing this yourself. There is a lot of good information out there to help you diagnose the issue. I just replaced our cooling unit with great results. Half the cost of a new refrigerator and not at all hard to make the swap.Re: looking for campground in NE New JerseyMahlon Dickerson Reservation in Jefferson (small, Morris County Park, water/electric) Great Divide Campground Newburgh NY KOA Liberty Harbor RV Park Swartzwood State Park (no hook ups) Spruce Run State Park (some water/electric) Pleasant Acres Farm/Campground Some of these are a bit of a drive, but I know of nothing close to USR – grew up and camp in NE NJ. You might find a Elks or such to boondocks but that's about it.Re: Waste water totes for fresh waterSecond something in bed of truck. A 12v pump isn't terribly expensive to use to pump the water from there into your fresh tank (if your current arrangement can't do this). At the end you have no heavy lifting or moving and a bladder is easily stowed away. Would I use a waste tote for potable water? Likely not. There's other options.Re: Keeping fridge door open while in storageThose blue clips do not stay when moving the trailer. Good luck with them. I'd be looking for another solution. Like the foam and bungie concept.Re: 6.6 Chevy gas engineAgree with Busdriver. Emissions are crazy on modern diesels. When something breaks (not if) it gets expensive really fast. Love the performance of the diesel (whichever brand flavor you like) but my next truck will be a gas version.Re: truck weight F350 dieselCCLB 4x4 Diesel Ford right around 8k also. A little over 20k with 5th ready to travel.Re: Towing with 2004 Lincoln AviatorIf the vehicle is in good condition and well maintained just take your time. Your not going to win any races, nor should you want to. A more robust TV would be great, but if you are safe I'd go camping. Not everyone can afford a new vehicle. That said, I do think 7k is optimistic for a tow rating for a Aviator (basically a explorer). I pulled the same trailer manor 3023 with both a 99 Ford Ranger with the 4.0 V6 and then with a 98 Explorer with the 5.0 V8. With the 5 speed trans and 4:10 gearing the Ranger was a much better experience. Lots of things go into a good TV imo. FWIW. That same trailer I pulled with the Ranger, I then put behind a 1 ton diesel. Guess what... they both did the job, held acceptable highway speeds and got us there.Re: Old style propane cylindersYes, you should retain a two stage regulator. A search on amazon or a local supplier should yield new pigtails to put between the regulator and the newer style tank. If you only wish to use one tank, just swap on side and leave the other in place unless you secure and use a regulator used for a single cylinder. I've witnessed the changeover portion of a regulator fail and allow a tank to empty out when the second cylinder was not in place.
