If my installer/maint folks told me 60, that's what I'd do. But then I've never asked.Re: What was the biggest flub on a trip?About the worst I can think of is showing up at a CG thinking I have reservations only to find out I;m off by a night or 2. Some of the long trips we've been taking can get a bit confusing.Re: A Stroll down Memory Lane: 10+ years on this ForumI seem to have lost the drive to answer most questions, or others have already covered what I would have said. I still go thru the forums a few times a week looking for something that interests me. Plus I'm settled on a long term trailer, not much new in RV'ing comes up these days.Re: Texas Plains Trail to Tucson, AZClickyRe: Dental Work in TijuanaI could be wrong, I'm thinking I heard $1500 for the post and implant, if those are the right terms but it could have been the total for the whole R&R, but I doubt it. I use the same dentist I've had for 30 years, no discounts, no more insurance. Being on fixed income now, costs matter. For the one I've had removed. There was the cost at the dentist, multiple visits to try and ID the issue. A trip to the endodontist to tell me a root canal wasn't going to help and forward me to the dental surgeon for removal. I'd have to add up the bills to know what getting 1 tooth half done was but I'm 1500 miles from home at the moment.Re: How far is too far?Bought the Escape direct from the manufacturer in Chilliwack BC, pretty much the only way to get a molded fiberglass trailer. Most make the drive to get them but I had mine delivered 3100 miles due to work limitations. I've had no issues other then with Dometic appliances and the local mobile tech takes care of those.Re: Dental Work in TijuanaI've been avoiding getting a tooth replaced that was pulled early this year due to cost. Now that I need another pulled I would consider going to MX to get them both taken care of, guessing around $6k. I would opt for something like Walmart if such existed in my neck of the woods, first I've heard of it.Re: RV Covers in the winter flyboykuao wrote: Hello, I am looking for feedback to those who use an RV cover in the winter. Do you use one of the covers that drapes over the roof only, or do you use one that drapes down over the sides and tires? YES Was yours easy to put on and take off? I am not as strong or limber as I used to be. Easy?, no, Hard, no, somewhere in between. Mine is fairly easy if I fold/roll it up correctly in the spring. The better the cover the more they weigh. My Calmark is fairly heavy and very bulkie, for only a 21' fifth wheel. A Tyvek cover, which I had before the Calmark, was much easier to manage and lasted 5-6 years. Re: restoring gel coat gloss ...small spotDiffering cuts of compound with a buffer. I'd start with a fine cut and see how it does. If you are not familiar with using a buffer a local body shop or detailer could probably make fast work of it. Buffers can cause more harm then good if not used properly.Re: Ageing Snowbird Parks, Changing habits, preferences.Being a newer retiree I know almost no one who snowbirds sitting in 1 campground. They are all traveling, maybe 2 weeks at a spot, then on to the next. Adventures seeing the country is more the idea as just avoiding the cold. AZ seems to be the biggest draw in the winter, some venture to Mexico. Public CG's, and boondocking are preferred. Many do Quartzsite for varying periods. The folks I know travel in small trailers, that may have something to do with it. The big private southern campgrounds seem to cater to big semi permanent rigs. Maybe when folks get even older and tire of traveling they will change to big RV's and opt for the sardine style private CG's.
