It has been the best camping unit thus far (outside of a colman pop up) Quality seems to be better then all other we have had. Maybe we got lucky with this one but I think you'll be happy. The 10' box isn't a problem for us we use it for bikes more then anything. As for hitch we have a reese pro slider. Only used the slider once in 7 years. And that was a pain. I had to remove the tail gate because the plastic cover on the pin box hit the tailgate. Then I couldn't turn 90 anyway because hit the bed rails. With the extended pin boxes I feel the slider is a waste. I have mine for sale.anyone have problems with new DRW and clearanceLooking at upgrading to a new Ram 3500 DRW but it looks like the box is higher then my 06 SRW. About 2-3". I am worried that I will loose the bed rail to box clearance or the trailer will run nose high. I probably have close to 2000 lbs of pin weigh plus I have a 60 gal aux. fuel take in the be adding another 600lbs. How much will a duelly level out with that much weight. If it drops 3-4" I should be good.Re: Advice needed -- will I regret a shortbed w/ 43' trailer?I have three kids also, get the Mega cab!!! The room difference isn't even close. For one the crew cab don't even have a full size seat and the middle seat is even smaller. I tow a 36' 5er with a slider hitch and I never used the slider in 7 years and over a 100,000 miles with the trailer. I have a SRW now but I am real close to pulling the trigger on a duelly. Get the 3500 ram and you won't have any problem with that trailer. the 13 and 14's have a new frame and the GVWR went up. According to the brochure I'm looking at right now. a 2014 4x4 mega with 6.7, aisin trans and 3.73 gears can tow 23,320, the GCWR of 32,000. People will disagree but that's what is in the book.Discovery 36jMy Parents are looking at a 2013 model, anyone have any experinces with this model like good or bad and what kind of fuel millage could they expect? They are upgrading from a 36' Winnabago with the 8.1 gas that they like and had good luck with.Re: Converting my dully to a 10 wheel drive to handle ToyhaulerCool project. I scrolled through the responses and didn't any from the weight police. I though they would jump all over you. You just have to watch and make sure those axels arn't locked at all when turning or you may not turn at all on dry pavement. Should handle anything you put behind it.Re: Diesel vs gas......................As a fleet owner we have many trucks including some duramax and cummins diesels. They are great but the new ULS fuel makes me timid about buying a 07. I currentally drive a 8.1 still has the Alli trans and make buku tourqe and is 6 grand less new and I never own them more than 5 years so a diesel didn't make any sence for me.
