Yes, it does add that extra length, but one benefit is that I can open the liftgate on our 4Runner when hooked up.Re: Snake oil rv products vs must haves- Snake oil - Definitely the RV TP. Following advice gleaned here (I think) we buy safe-for-septic TP and always do the shake test. Put a couple of sheets in an old plastic water bottle with some water, shake it up and let it sit for a few minutes. If the TP breaks up it's safe to use. - Must have - Lynx levelers. I have a couple of Lynx chocks too, and they're terrific if you have some slope and you're worried about rolling. Hitch Helper mirror. With this I can hook up my ProPride in about a minute. Jack stands (if you have a longer trailer). Anytime we're camped for more than a day or two of these go near the middle of the frame to take out the bounce.Re: Water Heater to Hot !!!!I had to replace the pressure relief valve this summer. As the hot water heater got up to temp the relief valve would open and it spewed water (several gallons, I'm sure) until everything cooled down enough for the valve to close again. It was the one time I didn't have my infrared thermometer with me so I couldn't verify the water temperature, but when I ran some into a cup and put it to my lips it was far from boiling hot. So I figured it wasn't the thermostat, and replacing the relief valve fixed the problem.Re: hay wagonMy trick for doing that with a tractor was to focus my attention on where I wanted the hitch point to go, not how I planned on moving the steering wheel. Trying to think the process out from the tractor's front wheels back was frustrating at best. It would definitely raise the campground entertainment level.Re: Soloing in a TT wmoses wrote: Instead of a camera an alternative would be the Hitch Helper Mirror. I use one of those with our ProPride. Makes hooking up solo a snap.Re: For the old Fogies.More interesting info here.Re: Stabilization ideas phenrichs wrote: I have considered the X-chocks but I am not sure that will help. 29' here, X-chocks made a huge difference. Depending on how long we're set up I also put up one or two jacks per side near the wheels to take out the center bounce.
