The camper is 7 yrs old and sits outside, so that would seem reasonable. Thanks everyone for the help. This forum is great. PeterAtwood Gas Water heater will not stay litI have a Atwood GC6AA-10E made in 2008. When turning it on in gas mode, the burner will light for 10-30 seconds, then quits and attempts to relight, again for 10-30 sec and stops. After three tries the light comes on and I have to turn it off and on starting over. Eventually it will light. Once it is lit it works perfect, cycling on and off to maintain temp. The electric mode works fine. I had a new ignighter put in, twice, and seems to help for a while, but will act up again. I have used a air gun to blow around the burner, and burner tube which seems to help, but nothing lasts long. Would replacing the main circuit board help. Thanks PeterRe: Atwood Water heater cold start problem on gasThanks, I'll check it out.Atwood Water heater cold start problem on gasI have a Atwood water heater that has a hard time starting when it is cold, hasn't been used for a day or so. It lights, burns for about 10 sec then the gas shuts off and it quits. It goes through this cycle about 5-6 times before it finally lights and keeps burning. I replaced the ingniter and that seem to help, but the problem is still there. Once it warms up it works fine. Is there some electronic brain that is not getting a signal that the burner is working? Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks Peter
