That’s as much weight as you would want to tow with the 3,5 Ecoboost, and the boat has much better aerodynamics than a travel trailer. I would not consider towing a TT with the Explorer. That’s what my F250is for.Re: Flying J/Def fluid pumpAren't we kind of picking the fly sh*t out of the pepper? We're all in a hobby that arguably is the worst financial investment, and there's quibbling over a couple of bucks? Enjoyable, yes, financially sound?... Just sayin.Re: Bad Slideout SqueelI had one of my slides make the same metal-on-metal squealing. Tried all the same fixes that were recommended to you. No joy. Took it to a real trailer / RV shop, and the solution was just a matter of adjusting the slide ram that was making contact with the frame. Too easy. Good luck!Re: Blue Beacon Truck Wash QuestionsI've done both - with and w/o Rain-X. I have not noticed a difference. BB does their best to up-sell their products, but I just politely decline, and they forge ahead with getting a good wash complete. If you're going to polish and wax afterward anyway, Rain-X would be rather useless regardless.Re: Blue Beacon Truck Wash QuestionsI have a Blue Beacon about 15 minutes from the house, and use them about once per month. The $40 is a small price to pay for the quality job they do - that includes the truck and fiver. Maintenance is cheaper and easier than repair, and I like keeping my rig in top condition.Re: Dexter EZ Flex install jmtandem wrote: I did the same install a couple years ago. All good. Never looked back. My original OEM bushings were some kind of plastic. You got to be kidding???? I couldn't agree more! Now I've already logged about 4,000 miles on this new trailer in the past year, but the plastic "bushings" (I use that term loosely) were toast - effectively providing no friction reduction / mitigation for the leaf springs. I'm certain failure was imminent.Dexter EZ Flex installI completed the installation of the Dexter EZ Flex rubber suspension system, as well as the wet bolts, this past weekend. My hopes were to eliminate all of the snapping / popping at low speeds, increase longevity of the suspension, replace the OEM junk plastic bushings, and smooth out the ride. I did not capture the installation in a write-up, as there is plenty of information on this forum and elsewhere on the web. It was rather straight-forward, and the installation went without any issues. On the short trip (to include highway travel) back to storage, the difference and improvement was immediately felt. Taking the rig on a 3-hour trek this weekend, and looking forward to the improved ride and handling. No real question or issue as the point of this thread, just thought I would report back with my findings and that if there is anyone on the fence considering this upgrade, it definitely seems worthwhile!Re: The weight police Redwoodcamper wrote: I wish people put as much care into driving skills than ranting about towing weights... Bingo.Re: Crossroads 331bh outside kitchen not plumbed to grey tankAs a CPE, sounds like your unit is "equipped with a drain fitting that provides an unobstructed waterway." No reference to the storage of said gray water.Re: New 5er AccessoriesAn amendment to a recommendation mentioned above, you DON'T need RV toilet paper. That's a scam. It's not as effective, overpriced, and any "septic safe" TP (almost all of them now) will suffice. Happy trails!
