Caution re: Indiana Their state park system is one that requires a sticker for entry into any park, whether for day use or camping. For non-IN residents (based on license plate) the annual fee is $60. Day use is $7 for out-of-state vehicles, but I don't know if that would cover an overnight campsite. These fees are in addition to the camping fees. And even the annual sticker is only good for the *calendar* year of purchase. So If you buy one tomorrow, it will still only be valid till 12/31/14. I second the suggestion for the Land Between the Lakes area. There are many campgrounds throughout the area and in both (KY and TN) states, as well as some COE campgrounds and a few National Forest campgrounds.Re: Born Free Owners .....Hi, AlwaysTravelin You'd want to be sure you've closed all the vents in the cab area, since cold air coming in there will cause an icy draft along the floor back into the cabin. That goes for all makes of Class C.Rose Parade: RV in float!Good morning and Happy New Year! Watching a pre-show about the 2014 Rose Parade. They showed the float from the City of South Pasadena, which has an Outer Space Vacation theme. If you'll be watching the parade, look out for this float, because the big float has a little "satellite" float of a small space ship pulling a teardrop trailer! Looking forward to RVing in 2014. See you on the road. You would need a digital tv receiver/tuner to put in line between an antenna and the computer. They are a real thing. Just Google "digital tv tuner for computer" and sift through the results for something that fits your particular 'puter. Or just look on Amazon - these days, they seem to sell everything. Of course, if you're addicted to dish/cable tv shows, this solution won't work. But if you just want to watch some news, weather, network programming, PBS, some sports or one of the new digital channels that show movies and original programming, you can use your computer's nice big monitor. No dedicated tv set needed.Re: The Greatest RV Song Ever?Chock Full o' Nuts wrote: Who remembers the old cowboy show "Rawhide"? It's our traveling theme song. (raises hand) Me! I remember "Rawhide." Also "Have Gun, Will Travel," "Maverick" and "Gunsmoke." I was a little girl then. What happened? :E The Blues Brothers' take on the "Rawhide" theme was a hoot.Re: The Greatest RV Song Ever?Everybody's talkin' at me. I don't hear a word they're saying, Only the echoes of my mind. People stop and stare. I don't see their faces, Only the shadows of their eyes. I'm goin' where the sun keeps shining Through the pouring rain. Going where the weather suits my clothes. Banking off of the Northeast wind, Sailin' on a summer breeze, Skippin' over the ocean like a stone. Harry Nilsson ************ From the first time I heard that song (in the film "Midnight Cowboy") it's caused my heart to lift and soar, and moved me to go... well, anywhere. Anywhere but wherever I am. Wonderful song to dream on, if you dream of traveling. :)Re: 35th Anniversary SPECIALS from Escapees RV Club! Thanks, Gypsies - I just joined up at that nice discount rate. :C It's one of those things I've been meaning to do, and you gave me a great incentive to actually do it.Re: What does your RV forum name mean?"Leenite" is a rearrangement of my real first name (Eileen) that was bestowed on me a loooooooong time ago by my kid brother and his friends. It started out as Leen-eye, then morphed into Leenite. Then it was shortened to just Ite. When my niece was born I became Auntie Ite, which I sometimes use in other forums and websites. And no, my last name is NOT "Dover." :B This was a fun thread - much better than fighting about WalMart. Thanks, CA Poppy!
