Congratulations!Re: Breakdown InformationRV particulars: Holiday Rambler Ambassador 40 foot Driveline :Cummins ISC360 Miles: 25,000 Year: 2008 Break Down Description: Engine alternator failure. Symptoms:Low Voltage warning - alternator not putting out full power Effect: alternator could not keep up with coach and motor battery demands Cause: Pilot error I believe. In getting RV ready for next day use the shore power cable came loose and that resulted in sapping the coach batteries pretty hard. The Coach engine alternator put out extreme power to meet the demand and failed after 200 miles of thruway driving. Outcome: New alternator put in from air cleaner side of engine (not top bedroom cover where it isn't accessible). Shop took alternator to truck alternator specialist and brought back another. Cost was s$280.00 for unit and $740.00 for everything. DON'T LEAVE HOME WITH NEARLY DEAD COACH BATTERIES OR YOUR ALTERNATOR MAY NOT FINISH THE TRIP.Re: Cool Mods - Thread restored 10/18/2012OnASafari, you turned your Jayco into a Sprinter! Looks just like our Sprinter 272RLS only you probably got a bathroom that can be used by big adults as your TT is longer!! We have a factory dinette only the trestle style and the leg is always in the way of my feet. That table mount is much more practicable then what we have. I'm toying with the idea of gutting out the entertainment area to make it larger so I can mount a household stereo in it. I'm told the 4 speakers are fine but our factory radio is junk so we have a surplus from the living room receiver to put into the trailer. How big a sub-woofer would it take to wake up a campground?? LOLRe: Cool Mods - Thread restored 10/18/2012Jeff, I really like your TV shelf mod. We have giant cavern behind our new flatscreen that is just going to waste. I gotta make better use of the space. Would make a nice "standup" pantry for the wife instead of standing on her head to reach everything. Although I gotta admit watching her is a bit funny, maybe even alittle bit amourous ! LOLRe: Cool Mods - Thread restored 10/18/2012Spindeepster, that's a fantastic idea. I plan on stealing it and doing one myself! It occured to me after studying yours, I could do mine a little differantly and still accomplish the same thing. We generally use the campsite picnic table for meals but no place to set drinks and magazines while just hanging out in our lawn chairs. Kudos to you son :BRe: Cool Mods - Thread restored 10/18/2012 2Rad4U wrote: I worried about the same thing, but then I realized I could either make the TT nicer to use, or leave the walls blank for the next owner..... I'm with you on that one. You can either leave it virgin for the next guy or make it as comfortable as you can for yourself. If you leave the stuff there when you sell it, the next guy may not even notice it as an add-on. The only thing I want to leave really nice for the next guy is the wall area near the stove. I need to get some covers to keep off cooking oils and grease from splashing onto the wallpaper.Re: You MIGHT be an RV'r if . . .If you have HIDefinition TV in the RV but not in the house. If you don't mind fooling with things called black water and don't even gag. If you have a Queen sized bed in the RV and Full size at home.
