Thanks for your reply.Re: Really newbie question about a small TTWe love our RV but it never makes since for only one or two nights. Find a cheaper hotel that serves breakfast for free.Re: Prep for trip..Can you hook up to shore power and city water? Run all the systems, AC, shower, stove, microwave. Look for water leaks and make sure your batteries hold power.Re: Aluminum vs Fiberglass TTOh, this is like asking if Ford or Chevy is better. Each have their fans. We went with aluminum and spend about half the year in it. Don't believe the folks that say you need a special kind of rig to full time. Floor plan is the main point for me. Does it have the space you need for months on end? Is the bath easy to move around in? I love my walk in shower, never want one of those tub/shower deals again. Does the kitchen have enough storage space. Can you see the TV comfortably from your couch? If your spouse goes to bed before you, can you close a door and give them some privacy? Those are the things that make living nice. The roof will last those 10 years on most decent units. Then you will have to maintain the rest, just like on any home. Good luck.Re: Smaller Trailer, with big features, ideass? You can find several nice rigs with good size baths that can be pulled by a 1/2 ton, but think they will be more in the 28 - 30' range. Agree with another poster that suggested forgetting the WD. When we travel for long periods I bring clothing that can be easily washed out in the sink. Save up the linens and jeans and just have a day at the laundromat every couple of weeks.Re: First Travel Trailer - 2001 Four Winds 27'Be aware that most RV roofs are really only good for about 12 years. It is a shame, but it's just the truth. We had an older unit we LOVED, but when the roof goes all you have is a mess. You can replace a roof, but it is expensive. Good luck to you.Dometic AC unit fan out of balance? We have a 2016 Grey Wolf travel trailer with a Dometic 13,500BTU AC roof unit. We used it last winter with no problems. It sat in our yard over the summer and we took it out last week for a short trip. When we turned the AC on for the first time it made a noise and vibrated as it the fan was out of balance. We turned it off immediately and just used a small electric fan for the remainder of the trip. We have dirt dauber bugs where we live and sort of thought they might have gotten in the AC and built a nest in the fan. Husband dropped the inside cover of the unit and has tried to look and see what the problem is. The squirrel cage does seem off balance as it always returns to the same spot when spun, like it is weighted there. He doesn't see anything as simple of a dirt dauber and isn't sure what it could be. He had hoped he could remove the unit from inside and sit it on the table and look at it. He has realized it needs to be removed from the roof up. This is not possible. He is too old and I don't want him crawling up on any roof at this stage of the game. We will call a repair place but since we are usually DIY kind of people I was wondering if anyone had had a similar problem and knew of a way to get to it from inside the the trailer and not from the roof. Since it gets HOT here in the summer we wondered if something from the roof or sealant could have melted ??? during the summer dripping on the fan. Just hoping for a way to fix it ourselves. RV techs are expensive on a fixed income.Re: how long is your tear down/setup time?Man, you guys are fast. Of course, we are old, and agree on very little anymore so maybe that is 75% of our problem. Most things are easy except for three items - Undoing stabilizers and hitch when we arrive, leveling and then setting up sewer hose. When it's time to go it's the hooking up stabilizers and hitch and then the whole dumping and cleaning of tanks and dump hoses. DH is ridiculous about how clean the tanks and hoses have to be. Of course we never have any odors which is nice. Our trailer has only one "garage" and it makes it tricky stowing everything. It's like a puzzle, it has to go in just so or it won't all fit. I love dry camping and staying hooked up so we avoid all this, but I also LOVE my long hot showers which require full hookup.Winter Trip to the WestWe live in East Texas and for years have traveled to South Florida for January and February. For the first time this winter, we do not have a reservation at the RV park we have enjoyed all these years. We are considering traveling WEST this year to Arizona?? Southern California?? Dumb questions: What are some good destinations? Is it warm enough in January and February to enjoy the trip? Any favorite RV parks that we could stay for several weeks? My husband loves to play poker. Any parks that have a regular game going?? Thanks for any help.Re: Ceiling fabric hanging looseSpray adhesive. Light spray near center and slowly work to the edges pressing and smoothing as you go to the outer edges.
