Also looks like you are doing some major interior renovations! Were you able to remove the ceiling panels without taking the cabinets out first? The ceiling didn't have any panels, It had bad warped wood paneling ceiling job someone added and a rotted plywood roof that came from factory. We tore off as much rotted material as we could and We slid new plywood sections in between roof and existing reinforced previous studs and added some new studs up front in the bunk and cab area and built up the front some so the top of roof will be level for the kool-seal. Later when I can afford to buy one single sheet of aluminum with NO seams, I will completely take roof off and replace complete roof and the old plywood structure.Re: How many of us are there? Plas-T-Cote rubber roof coating by Elixir Industries. I just cut in the edges with a 3 inch brush, and then rolled it with a 9 inch roller. any difference between plasticote and kool-seal? I had been planning on using Kool seal as soon as the rains had gone away. I already sealed my seams with fiberglass tape and kool-seal patching compound.Re: How many of us are there? Owners of Dodge based RV's?we'll use those pics as a guide to judge our restoration by. That is beyond nice. Those chairs are identical to mine except for the color. First thing I'd do is have some covers made to cover that fabric. My fabric has started dry rotting already. Welcome doom13c :)Re: How many of us are there? Owners of Dodge based RV's? Beautiful Rig Tioga76! I wish mine had been yellow themed outside instead of just Poop brown. my inside is yellow on seats at least. Wanna trade :) P.S. Can anyone confirm that air breather can as the same one on a 440-1? or does anyone have a pic of one for a 440 carter 4 barrel or the mopar part number. I hate to ask SOOOO many questions, I just have SOOO many. I AM a Dodge RV grasshopper. :)Re: How many of us are there? Maybe the chassis is a '79, and the engine is a '78. But according to the Champion apps list I've seen, the RJ12YCs are for a '78. But they are so different than what was in there. I'm inclined to just go get some new RV9YCs, but I'd like to get to the bottom of the application questions. When did the 440-3 cease production? Isn't '79 one of the last years? Where do I find identifying numbers on the engine and/or heads? doing research on web, these are the numbers I found, 440 All years use Champion Copper / Spark Plug Part Number: #406 or RV12YC Autolite-Platinum / Spark Plug Part Number: AP25 Motorcraft / Spark Plug Part Number: 450 Ac-Delco-Rapidfire / Spark Plug Part Number: 1 Autolite-Double-Plat / Spark Plug Part Number: APP25 Ac-Delco / Spark Plug Part Number: R42TS Bosch-Copper-Super+ / Spark Plug Part Number: 7969 Autolite-Resistor / Spark Plug Part Number: 25 Motorcraft / Spark Plug Part Number: SP-450 413/361 all years use Champion part # 405 Found recommendation for RV12YC here. the other numbers are other manufacturers equivalency to the #406. Because of the coding used in the Dodge MH Parts maual, it can be confusing at times to determine which part number you need. You not only need the year model, you need the chassis key code from the first page of the parts manual. Dodge did things like referring to the M375 chassis as M4 (If you look at the brake overhaul pictures they refer to a 72 M400; it's actually a M375). The following table is a condensed version of the key code information. _______________________________________________________________ new engine mounting brackets depending on the engine you choose. Both 318s and 360s use Dodge PN 3894712 for the right side (440s use PN 3823214), but the left side mount is different for all three engines: PN 4112853 for 3l8s, PN 3497409 for 360s, and PN 3823215 for 440s. The rubber insulators are the same for all '72-'92 trucks, (except those with 3.9L V-6) PN 4088033 for both sides. some parts numbers I've gathered from other forums people discussing 440's and Dodge RVs. Can anyone confirm that above info is correct? ________________________________________________________________________________Re: How many of us are there? I don't think mine was much more than the harbor freight version, so why not look and some the the purpose built RV pumps like this one. http://www.adventurerv.net/shurflo-water-pump-12v-gpm-camper-p-106.html I appreciate the link Eyeteeth. That shurflo is $62.90 shipped, while the HF is $39 picked-up in local store. :@ That auto shutoff worth $22? hmmm ThanksRe: How many of us are there? Owners of Dodge based RV's?Hi Ya'll, I got some work done on my roof over past weeks. I patched/filled the holes, installed new (used) elixer vents, a skylight over drivers/passenger cab, sealed my roof seams with reinforcement fiberglass tape and some kool-seal patch cement. she needs a good power washing with TSP and she'll be ready for 2 coats of white kool-seal. I'm planning on replacing the water pump soon possibly with This pump. anyone ever used a pump from harbor freight? would it be too strong or not strong enough? Getting some pictures soon before I redo the roof and will be taking before photos on the bunk area. Have Safe and enjoyable (rain free) travels.Re: How many of us are there? I'm gonna look this weekend and take some pics. When you say the front, you mean closer to the radiator right? That's what I found Leeann, I read the first 46 pages of 167 pages already and found the decoder in those pages. Trish I saw the 2 labels with the different VINS on door sill. I sure wish Brougham Industries hadn't went out of business. I've been scouring the web mining any bit of Dodge/Brougham tidbits I can find, but it doesn't seem like much info. I did notice the recall that had affected 77/78 mb400 when it came to brake issues and frame cracking and steering having light duty steering linkage tie rod and center link assemblies in place of the specified heavy duty components. Any way to tell if the updated steering components had been installed? Hopefully I'll be passing Ya'll one day on the byways :) My first trip is gonna be Gatlinburg, TN area if I ain't plum broke by then.Re: How many of us are there? Owners of Dodge based RV's? I checked the VIN using Dodge decoder but it shows up as Lebaron Car and can't find numbers on the engine. I bought two manuals(Haynes & Clymer) hoping they might help, but locations they listed to look I didn't have any labels or see raised castings. Are there any identifying differences on parts/locations to help identify engine size? I've seen ads online with people having 316, 330, 440-3 in old Dodge RV's. I am a Dodge noob and want a definite know before I go chunking money down on engine parts. Any Assistance or help where to look to identify? It's probably a 360 or 440. If the distributor is on the rear of the engine, it's a small block, probably a 360. If the distributor is on the front of the engine, it's a big block, probably a 440. Distributor is under hood on the right side I believe. this is first 7 digits of vin:F44CD7V. Thanks Griff in AK. I'm having to buy parts and it needs a ton of them, maybe even a new carb down the line(has original). Going to have to redo my roof, bunch of rotted wood, inside wooden roof studs need replacing and cab over sleeper repairs. I have high hopes though. currently trying to decide best option for roof. bunch of pin holes on roof + where sunroof used to be over drivers cab, can't decide between elastomeric roof coating or some type of new metal roof entirely.
