I looked on Amazon & they seemed pretty pricey. Anybody have any other ideas where to find them?Re: directv SD to HD in MH worth it?is there a way to tell if it is a SWM3 dish easily? Yes, we do have an HD tv in the MD- got a good black Friday deal on one. We use an antenna to catch the local HD over the air shows, and the dish to watch everything else, which usually is what we watch. does anybody have a recommendation for a tripod?directv SD to HD in MH worth it?driving home today I noticed a neighbor who had just moved put his directv HD dish (including LMB) on the curb so I picked it up (too many hoarder instincts I think). For years, I have had SD in our MH. I made the basic stand out of PVP pipe (found on here a couple of years back) & ran my old SD receiver with it. It was small (doesn't take up much space), easy to set up, and easy to find the signal. So, has anyone made a similar transition from SD to HD? I know I will need to get a new & bigger stand to support the bigger dish. What about finding the signal. Since it has to find 3 satellites do I need a meter device to dial in the signal? I don't have a ton of extra space in our class C, and we don't use the TV very often- kind of a luxury item. I don't' want to spend a bunch of money on this- one of the benefits of a smaller dish & SD- doesn't take up much space & easy to tune. So, is it worth it?Re: staring the engine during long tripthanks for the reply's. I cant find anything in the maunal that mentions it, but it must be ok to not run the motor. but for my peace of mind I might do it anyway every couple hundred miles or so...staring the engine during long tripI have a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee that I have used on several smaller trips (2 hours of towing max). I have read on here that some like to start their toad several times a day when on long trips to circulate fluids. I have looked in my Owners manual but cannot find any guidelines for when/ how often to do this. we will be traveling about 5000 miles in the next 6-7 weeks with a few long (12 hr) days mixed in there. My thought was every 2-3 hours when I need to get out & stretch, that would be a good time to start the Jeep. Does that sound about right? any other recommeddations? Thanks!!Re: nascar campingSame hours here at PIR in Phoenix. I really don't mind th noise from all the genney's- like others have said once it gets to 11 & they are all shut off it takes awhile to get used to the "silence" lol. And anyway- the industrial generators they use to power the nightime lights are way worse then want most campers have :). If you are stuck next to them you could run your genny all you want- nobody will ever hear it!!!Re: fridge temperature adjustment helpyes- we have the auto temp model, but here in AZ I'll take a 4 degree drop in temp every time I can get it :)Re: Driving non stopa lot of "how" we drive depends on the trip itself. I, personally, enjoy the journey as much as the destination. But, next we are traveling from Phx to Iowa. 14th time I have made the trip. At this point, the route doesn't look much differerent at night than it does during the day, so we will get there ASAP. But, later on this summer going to Oregon. Been there about as many times, but more to see, so will take our time. Botom line, every trip is different. But that is the beauty of a class C- it will meet the needs of about every trip you take!fridge temperature adjustment helpHello- We have about a 12 year old Dometic (sorry- don't have the model # here). I remember reading on here somewhere how to change the temperature- we have the slide on the side fin. To get the temp in the fridge cooler- do I move the slide up or down? thanks in advance!Re: fridge fan benefit?OK- to illustrate my ignorance a bit more- are there 2 different types of fans? An extrerior one to get the hot air out or away from the unit, and then an interior type that simple forces cirrululation on the inside of the unit? If so, is one type more beneficial than the other? thanks for the responses:)
